I have a 2001 Galant ES that wont start. I know its not the battery because I have all ready replaced that. I'm thinking its the starter because when I try to crank it up I sometimes hear clicking. Or could it be the alternator? If it is the starter where is it located?

The easy way is for you to go down to your local auto parts store and get a Haynes repair manual for your 1997 Mitsubishi Galant. In it are all the instructions you need and alot more!

Every so often, when I try to start my car, it just clicks. after a couple of tries it will crank and be just fine for weeks. we think it might be the starter, but auto zone says starter is okay. could...

Sounds like Solenoid. U can replace it if you know how to do a starter rebuild. Go to local auto store and see if they have it or a rebuild kit. Otherwise just buy a new/ rebuilt starter and put that in.

1996 Mitshubishi Galant ES, 4 cyl. when i turn the key it clicks n doesn't always start, i have radio, lights, new battery, ignition switch, starter and selinoid some times it's worse than other times.

it sounds like you may have a bad wire leading to your starter selenoied try replacing the wireing to your starter and when you make the connections put some dielectric greese on the connections to prevent carrsion

you may also have a bad relay replace it before you replace the wires to your starter

i hope this helps
