I have a 2009 Buick Lucerne. I cannot find any traction device besides studded tires for winter driving conditions. There is insufficient clearance between the front tire and shock absorber for chains or cables. The tire size is P245/50R18. Is there any alternative solution when chains are required for driving through mountain passes or similar conditions? Even then, studded tires are not acceptable.
Yes try tire cables there smaller in clearance than chains and as effective. they may be slightly more price wise but this should get you by. happy travels.
