My tailgate wont open on my LR3 land rover iv done everything re checking the lock sytem
I ve got the same problem on mine after getting my registration plates put on.I remove the long screws they used and guess what ..the problem was solved; I put back the registration plate with much shorter screws and since then no problem. May be the long crews touched a sensor or blocked a kind of mechanism.It may be your problem too. My LR3 WAS a 2009 model.

Cant open the tailgate to my Discovery 3. Can here a noise but wont release. Any Ideas please

there was a problem with these where the boot latch mechanism breaks internally so although the elctrics work the tailgate wont open result tailgate needs broken into best to speak to your local landrover dealer or specialist

of course the range service isn't sure, if they teach you how then there will be no more business for them. i say is that the mechanism may have tripped. go to the tailgate from the inside then try opening the latch manually
