Oil from spewing from front of engine for a few miles then stops.

I have an interesting problem. I have a Dodge Ram 2500 with a 8 liter V10 engine. Last Jan. I was driving from southern Cal to Kingman Arizona. Just outside of Needles CA there was smoke comming out behind the truck. After a few miles it stoped and I did not think much about it. When I got to Kingman there was oil all over the front of the engine. I took it to a local mech. and he could not find where it came from. He used UV dye and after a few weeks there was still no oil leak. I drove it all that winter and most of the summer and fall, then this Dec. we were going to go on a trip with our 5th wheel trailer and 10 miles out of towne we saw smoke again. I pulled over and again oil all over the front of the engine. took it to another mech. and could not find anything leak. any sugesstions? thanks

Take your truck to a mechanic with a smoke machine. He can add the dye and send smoke through the engine if there is a keak the smoke will exit the engine that is were the leak is the dye will tell the mech. the very spot the oil is comming from

2004 Doge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi 190K mile had oil pressure gauge drop to ZERO and check gauges light come on and engine shut down.. Check oil 1 guart low, add oil. let cool. crank up, good gauges drove home 45...

If the valve lifters are quiet you most likely have oil pressure even with gauge showing "0".Sounds like the oil pressure switch going bad.I would try that first.
