If the radio works and the speakers com on just tape it up and out of the way you may not even need this wire.

Dude I got the same problem... THAT WIRE IS TO THE BUILT IN AMP/SPEAKERS. First you need the premium ford stereo wiring harness. Scosche # FDK10B. or Metra # AW-WHFPS. Neither brand has proper colored power wires tho. Get the wiring diagram for the 88 town car from google cross match the wires up on power supply plug (dont forget the ground) poof your done!

I have a 1995 lincoln town car signature series that im trying to put a aftermarket cd player in i was tole that i have to cut the wires from the amp in the back and run them to the cd player is there a...

Before you cut the wires try Walmart and Auto Zone and look for a Conversion kit. They run about $5 and give you a connector that will fit the factory connection and allow you to add the aftermarket device. I know for a fact they have them for aftermarket radios and I'm pretty sure they have them for a separate CD player if that is what you actually have.
