The key tumbler. where you insert the key is different from your ignition switch. they are connected by a rod that runs down the top of your stearing column. the switch might be out of adjustment or bad. it is rectanguler in shape with a aluminum base and white plastic top that the wireing harness plugs into. there is a small bolt on each end that can be loosened for up and down adjustment or removed to replace. if you must replace remove the two bolts that hold the stearing column up and let it hang. this will give you more room to work. also be carefull not to damage the connecter retainer.

I have a 2007 odessey and i seperated the key from the key pad now van will turn over but wont start,i put keypad back on key but still wont start turns over but wont start any suggestions?

If you damaged a chip in the key, it won't start. You will have to get a replacement. You'll need the VIN# and go to the dealer to have one cut. Wouldn't hurt to take your key with you.

Lost my keys to my 2003 expedition my son took key switch out put a new one but anti theft wont let it start I found the old key how can I start it

You may be able to hold the original key close to the key lock and try starting the truck with a valet key that does not have a chip.
The sensor for the chip is close to the cylinder.

Did you check the relay? Maybe swap it with another and see if that works.

A second key was cut at a lock smith but the vehicle will not start

if the key turns and finds the spring loaded start position, fully
then the key is good.
you failed to say,
wont crank
or wont start
to diametrically different systems.

if it wont crank , it can not start, short of being push started, with manually tranny , unstated transmission, makes my comments on the key line , useless.

The security light on car wont start

You should try a different key if available. If no other key is available, you can try cleaning the chip embedded in the key

with a pencil eraser or give both the key and ingition a couple of short blasts of electrical contact cleaner.

Is reading theft system and wont start

Try cleaning your key off... those keys have security chips and if you get the oily or dirt on them your car wont start. Or try using a spare key if you have one... Good Luck!

Key is stuck in ignition and car wont start

When the battery is dead, the key cannot be removed. You can either charge the battery, and remove the key or, there is a access panel (small) under the steering column, remove this, and push a small pluger to the left, while holding the plunger, remove the key.
