You can disconnect your battery for 15 minutes or pull the fuse for an ECM or PCM fuse, but the best way is to visit any local repair shop. Ask your local service center if they could reset the check engine light with a Check Engine Light Code Reader.

If you have a Owners manual it will tell you. If Not a quick call to a Toyota dealer Service Department with your question will get you an answer. It will be easy to do. Just write the process down and put it in your glove box for next time.
The maint req'd light goes on when your vehicle is due for an oil change. If you've recently changed your oil - sometimes your mechanic won't reset the built in tracking settings for when you are due for another oil change. Here's how you can reset it.
Turn ignition to "ACC" and press the odometer button until the display reads actual mileage (not Trip A or B).
Turn ignition off.
Hold the same button down that you used in step 1.
While holding the button, turn ignition to 'ON'.
The 'Maint Reqd' light should blink and go out.
Done!
