Hey Stephan P. and others... - 1994 Ford F-250, Turbo Diesel, pre Power Stroke - hard to start, maybe a minute or more?

Does it have dual batteries? A friend of mine threw 3k$ at his, then found out one of the batteries were low or had a bad cell. It was turning over for a long time, and we never suspected them being at fault. Like 2 750 or 850 CCA batteries. Have yours tested at a parts store to rule them out.

The power to the glow plugs on vauxhall astra diesel dti 2000 reg is constantly fashing when the engine is running, but goes off when the engi ne is stopped, and only the ignition is on.

yes common fault ,ignore it as its a problem with a earth point on the back of the speedo in some cases in others its the computer but the heaters are not coming on ,same as the opels i work on here except you have a grithin or however you spell it on the front badge

Ford F250 turbo diesel cut out and died as left house this morning, cold morning. Will not start, not even a cough. Have new fuel filters, need location of the filters, anything else I should check?

if you have the 6.0 then the filters are located on top on the motor right beside your oil filter and under the drivers side on the fuel pump, check to see if you have diesel in your bowl where the fuel filter is, no diesel in there your fuel pump might be dead, check fuses to fuel pump and check relay on the passengers side kicker panel, check your owners manual

Turbo diesel, cranks but does not start when it is cold.

Have the cold start valve replaced, it enriches the fuel mix during cold start and check the glow plugs and see if any are bad, to test remove the wires and put test meter to ohms and one by one test each glow plug with one probe to ground and one on the tip of the glow plug see it it goes close to zero if it does not move then that glow plug is bad, replace all that you find bad.

Difficulties in starting my diesel hiace

Clem, you didn't say, but your car may have a fuel injection system, and in that case, this article speaks to the morning difficulty problem and the diagnosis:

If it is a carburetor, then here's the article for that morning problem:

Hope this helps! Brad

Vauxhall vivaro wont start cold

Sounds like a faulty cold start assistor. On top of the engine you will find an aluminium housing with four things that look like glow plugs screwed into it. These 'glow plugs' are only available complete with the housing fron Vauxhall. Approx £70 +
Airbag light is probably a fault with the seatbelt pretensioner.
Check the wiring under the seats for damage or perhaps the plugs have pulled apart.
