Spray the door latches with a good penatrateing oil slam the doors sevral times thier is a switch in the latch that sticks
I had the same problem with my 2000 supercab ranger. It was always the passenger rear door. I sprayed all of the latches with white lithium grease and haven't had a problem since.
I had the same problem. chargernut has an interesting fix. I opened my doors up and sprayed the micro switches with WD40. The dealer wanted over $200 to replace all four switches. The problem is the switch must release under spring tension when the door closes rather than the other way around which would be a better design. A work around is to simply remove the dome light fuse until you can get the switches working.
There is a relay that can go bad and cause this problem too.....open the glove box, push inward on each side to completely open the glove box, right inside on the bottom of the dash is a relay attached to a metal bar; if it clickes when you turn the ignition on and the dome light comes on....just replace the relay with a matching 5 prong relay available at most auto stores :)
