Did you check the ground wire on the frame. There is a ground wire that is bolted to the top frame rail near the left rear wheel opening. I've seen that wire break or get corroded where it bolts to the frame. I'm not sure of the location on a 1998 but that's where it is on the earlier models as well as the full size trucks. That wire also grounds the gas gauge, does the gas gauge read goofy? Also keep in mind the pump only runs for 3-5 seconds then it shut off, until the engine starts, or the starter is engaged. Good luck!

Wiring diagram 94 chevy s10

ECM b powers the fuel pump relay, the engine computer, and other components.
You could try pulling the pump relay to see if the short is in the fuel pump circuit. Otherwise, you may need a shop manual to find out everything in that circuit.

NEED TO KNOW WHERE THE FUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH IS FOR A 1998 CHEVY S10 TRUCK...

For the 1998 s10 theres no fuelpump switch, there is a fuelpump relay. the relay is in the engine compartment inside the fuse/relay box. the relay will be labeled on the inside cover of the fuse/relay box cover. besides the relay the only other problem for a fuelpump not working on these trucks is the fuelpump is bad or the wiring connector to the pump is bad.

How do you reset a fuel pump in a 1998 chevy s10 truck 2.2 liter engine, 2 wheel drive? The truck hit a curb going pretty fast and now when you turn the key on the fuel pump does not come on. Is there an...

No, no reset for an S10. There would be a fuel pump relay under the hood in the fuse/relay block. And also a 10 or 15 amp fuse for the pump at this junction block as well.
Check the fuse, then find the tank electrical connector, pull it apart and find the gray wire -the fuel pump wire. Clip a test light lead to ground then put the tester probe into the gray wire terminal on the harness side of connector. Now have a helper turn the key to start and crank the engine over. The test light should light up if your electrical circuit is working. Before you drop the tank to investigate the fuel pump (it probably needs replacing), check if the ground for the pump is alright. Maybe when you hit the curb, you jarred loose the ground connection.

Having problems with chevy s10 replaced fuel pump

Check the cable that goes from your battery to the fuse box the relay that is clicking is on. Check for lose bolts or corrosion of the contacts or something like that. If the relay is clicking it sounds to me like it is a voltage issue going to the relay.

2001 chevy s 10

Find power wire coming from relay to pump when key switched on, & follow it back to pump. If you have power out of relay & nothing at pump, then I'd look for a break in wire to rear, or just run a new one. Double check your ground as well.
