Drain transmission fluid. Remove transmission oil pan. Remove and replace transmission filter. re-install oil pan with new gasket and refill with new transmission fluid.
Through the tube that the transmission dipstick is. Use an elongated funnel to add transmission fluid. Monitor the fluid level. Loss of transmission fluid could lead to major problems.
transmission oil is red pull the dipstick out & check the color, also the transmission dipstick is a lot longer than the engine dipstick......hope this helps.....cheers
if there is fluid in it take a sniff of it if it smells realy burnt you may want to take it to a trans shop isuzus especialy rodeos and troopers are known for bad transmisions sory
I have a 1995 rodeo with an automatic. the fluid level is measured on the dipstick, which is next to the oil dip stick on the v-6 anyway. you add fluid by removing a plug unedr the vehicle mounted up near the center of the transmission.
There are two drain plugs on the bottom of the pan. remove the lower one to drain the trans fluid. To refill, use a pump and pump the fluid into the upper drain plug until it seeps out and re-install the plug, similar to refilling a manual trans.
Once this is done, Start the vehicle and run it for about 3 minutes, shifting through all gears (do not drive vehicle Remove the upper drain plug and let any excess fluid drain out. Done. This is as per Mitchell OnDemand.
