Pops out of fifth gear and I just had the clutch replaced , 2001 Elantra..now it seems that when I drive the car it constantly pops out of fifth gear, no others though.

hi when during clutch renewal the gear selection cable need to be disconnected then refitted when transmission refitted so it is possible that selection of 5th requires adjusting to fully lock the synchro in to the 5th gear if you are pushing g/lever to full travel and still jumps out then this is sign that it req's adjusting or that something has come loose (locknut?) if no problem prior to clutch o/haul ? then it may be something simple?

I have a 96 f150 5.0 4x4 that wont shift into fifth gear

I had that problem once on a much older vehicle, I don't know if they build them the same way now but my problem was a bad sirclip. It was worn and would not hold the gear in place.

Hope this helps.

Tranny wont shift into fifth gear.

you could retry bleed clutch slave cylinder, should really replace these when replacing clutch if high mileage or it might be fifth gear ring gear broken or worn looking at gearbox strip or new gearbox i would try rebleeding clutch might have small airlock in it.

5th gear with 1996 VW Polo

hi mandy
im dave
if it only revs when you put it in 5th gear then it is not in fifth gear. it may look like it but it is not. try moving the gear selector from fourth into neutral releasing the clutch fully then applying the clutch and initiating fifth gear. if that does not work try placing it into one of the other gears first without releasing the clutch and then selecting fifth.
you should be fine driving in four gears as long as you dont travel on the audobahn or at speeds like your on the audobahn. Just watch your redline. try not to go past it. i think it is actually better for your car to drive at higher revolutions than lower as it cleans out your combustion chamber of carbon. on the other hand it is ******* your engine to drive in the red line constantly.
but 3000 rpm in 4th gear probably has you driving 130km/hr (82mph) which should be sufficient and your redline probably does not start until somewhere between 4-5k
