The air bags release air after it sits. The rear raises back up after starting engine, if you add weight, it raises up even more to compensate for level suspension. It should be fine unless it's sitting almost on thr ground, but it does release air and sit lower.

I have a 1999 ford expedition Eddie bauer and my air ride suspension pump is coming on about every 10 minutes or so.this is not normal.what's wrong? What do I check first?

Your air suspension is leaking, could be a air bag or line or a fitting or a dump valve. Get a spray bottle full of soapy water and start spraying down the air ride components and watch for bubbles.

08 ford expedition air suspension problems

This is simple the air suspension air bags are leaking, they last about 75-100,00 miles on this model, even less if driven on harsh roads or off road.

Rear Air Suspension won't air up

take the sensor arm loose and manually operate it, when it is up, it thinks the suspension is low. Spray the bags and hoses with soapy water to find any leaks, dawn dish detergent works well. repair any leaks. If no leaks manifest, take a hose loose and see if you are actually getting air pressure from the air pump. Just because it is running, doesn't mean it is supplying pressure.

Rear suspension sags

Your vehicle has air bags that are part of the suspension. They are made of rubber and over the years thaey get cracks in them. This also can cause the air pump to run continusly to the point of burning out the pump or blowing the fuse, There is also a little arm that attaches to the rear end that may have come off. This part goes to a sensor that could keep it from not airing up the air bags, If you don't hear the pump coming on see if the fuse has blown. If so replace the fuse see if the pump comes on. If it pumps the vehicle up get a spray bottle full of soapy water and spray each air bag to look for leaks. There is a place that sells remanufactured air bags on the internet or try this number 18665972397. hope this helps leave comment

Rear air suspension isnt working.

IF YOU HEAR COMPRESSOR TURNING ON THATS GOOD. THE MOSE COMMON PROBLEM IS BEHIND BATTERY THERE IS A PLASTIC LINE WITH A UNION TO CONNECT THEM,THE UNION BREAKS AND BAGS WILL NOT INFLATE IN REAR. YOU CAN GET UNION AT A DEALERSHIP AND SIMPLE TO INSTALL THE LINES BACK TOGETHER,MAYBE ALSO A LEAK AT THE BAGS IF IT INFLATES AND SINKS AFTER SITTING A WHILE. WITHOUT MORE INFO THATS WHAT I HAVE TO OFFER.

'98 Expedition Rear suspension leaking

IFYOU FIND THE AIR BAGS ARE LEAKING (USUALLY IS THE PROBLEM) JUST REPLACE IT. LIFT UP THE REAR REMOVE THE TIRE ,DISCONNECT THE PLASTIC LINE THAT GOES TO THE AIR BAG (push the little grommet pull the plastic hose) DISCONNECT THE WIRE CONNECTOR, AND REMOVE THE CLIP AT THE TOP OF THE AIR BAG (JUST PULL IT) AND REMOVE THE AIR BAG (REVERSE TO INSTALL IT)
(YOU CAN REMOVE THE AIR BAG IN ABOUT 40 MINUTES) EACH SIDE.( on ebay you can find replacement to a regular shocks) or air bags

4WAS not working on rear axle

look for creases with cracks in the air bags, if u have over 75,000 miles u can almost be sure the bag or bags are leaking. I am a Ford dealer technician and have very good knowledge of this problem, hardly ever see anything but defective leaking bags, and on occasion a disconnected load level sensor on the rear suspension, have u checked that?.

Air ride suspension 1997 ford expedition

If the compressor is working and actually pumping out air, might need to check your lines dont have a leak by disconnecting them from the bags. If pressured air is making it to the end of the line, then bags may need to be inspected and one or both replaced. However it is more likely that the lines are leaking or the compressor pump needs a service. Just a new set of rings in the unit. Good luck, hope it helps.

2001 Ford Expedition XLT EB rear air bag suspension does not inflat

Sounds like the seals may have failed in the air shocks themselves. I also think you may have a bleeder valve problem. Follow the lines back and check the bleeder valve to see if it is leaking when you have someone else turn the vehicle on.
