Turn off service engine lite - 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Sounds like there was water in the gas, which would make the engine run rough, service engine lite might go on. Try adding an octaine additive to gas.

When the Service engine soon, ABS and TRAC lights are turned on at the same time the computer control units for the engine and the ABS/TRAC systems has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system and the ABS and Traction Control system (part of the ABS system). If you have had the car serviced and the problem is solved, disconnecting the battery cable and then reconnecting it should clear the computer. If it hasn't been serviced, then you may have to have it serviced before the lite wil go off.

1. Turn the key to "on" so the electrical system is fired up (but engine is not running)

2. Set trip planner to "A" trip.

3. Turn key off (no electrical)

4. Hold down trip planner button, then turn key "on" so the electrical system is fired up (but engine is not running).

5. "Maint Req" light will blink several times then go off.

You need to reset the oil lite with an oil change or add oil. As for the check engine lite being on you need to read the codes and see why it is on then the repair facility will reset the lite. They come on for a reason.

turn the key from off to on 40 times. Or disconnect the battery for a few hours to erase memnory. then drive for 10 miles while it relearns, may run rough during the drive.

Sometimes disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will reset the check engine light. Make sure you have the correct radio code before doing this or your radio will not work after disconnecting the battery.
