If the battery is ok why do you need to jump anyway? most likely its not ok, the alternator do not provide enough power at idle to supply the engine the amount of power needed to keep it running, below 1200rpm you actually use the battery, in the range of 1400 to 2000rpm the alternator will produce a surplus enough to recharge the battery, but if the battery is old it does not recharge enough to start your truck

Make sure it's charging ok.
Jump starting can cause trouble.
If you don't have a way to check the voltage ,put jumper cables
on it and see if it runs better.

Replaced battery on a 1992 Mitsubishi eclipse, still needs jump

THE HIGH LOW IDLE MAY BE A SIGN OF A LOW COOLANT LEVEL.THE IDLE CIRCUIT IS CONTROLED BY ENGINE TEMP.AS FAR AS THE BATTERY.THE STARTER MAY BE DRAWING TO MANY AMPS.THERE MAY BE A DRAIN ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM W/THE KEY OUT.

1996 mitsubishi eclipse power issue

keep it idling a little bit high about 1000 and remove the +ve terminal from the battery if went down then you have to check the alternator if it keeps on idling turn the headlights on (high beam ) if it stops then again you need to check the alternator if keeps on idling then alternator is ok
