I have been doing some repair work on a friends 1997 Buick Lesabre custom 3.8L. The issue that Im having problems fixing is the heating and cooling system, more specifically the HVAC.

From reading your letter it sounds like a problem I had with my Jaguar X-Type. My problem turned out to be a broken blend door inside the heater box. I replaced it and has been working since. Good luck with yours.

Why is there no power to A/C control panel?

no less than 6 related posts.

2.5L or 4.0L engine?>

why not post the full symptoms. and year of car.

if i read all 28 days of posts, i see its a 1988 !

and books on that old dog are hard to find (sold mine)

had 2 , 1988s, matching pair, xj and Comanche.

drove them to death. 500k total, miles.

I know 88s very well, too.

the problem is finding facts on this relic, french ECU car.

but it's online, at mitchells and alldata. and others

to work on this old car, why not get a $15 subscription to mitchells, DIY.

and not work blind and in the dark.

so ill help you.

A/c Dead or more clearly the panel is dead.

doe that mean just a lamp dead, but a/c works or not

why not post all that works and does not.

does car drive ok day and night??????

anything else dead?

ok i see post 5 says everything else is fine

but then says, heat is dead.

but does the blower blow?

helping you with such sparse 1 liners. is near impossible

try this, put a full question in a text file with notepad.

then past it here.

like this.

Hello: my blower is dead, in dash why?

or blower good and heat dead, but engine is 180f , why.

or blower dead and heat dead parked, but work moving

that is in fresh air vent mode, i get heat and a/c

my A/c clutch on my compressor, is active or not.

works or not./??

ive lots of questions, here ill ask them

does the heater fan (blower) blow on HIGH/.??

yes/no.?

no, blower fuse 25amps blown open

yes, but not low speed, then blower resistor block , burned out.

does the heater water valve open and close proper

with dash temperature lever action ( takes a hand vacuum tool to test this......!!!)

lets work heat. since that is 10x more easy than A/C

1: engine hot, 180F +?

2: water valve opens, with lever? sends hot water to core in cab.

3: both core hose get real hot 180f hot? yes/no

4: does fan blow on high? yes/no

5: ever flush the core out. so it clean inside,

do so at ends of hoses, not at core. or damage is easy to happen there. (ask why and how)

ends means engine side.

6: do the dampers move correctly via cables and vacuum.

you said no power to panel, please say what that means.

blower dead or what?>

this is the vacuum operated hot water valve.

easy to test, heat off , it goes closed, heat max

it opens max. can be seen to work, see lever below?

26116380-j20myofaln1gqogheslpolee-3-1.jpg

this vacuum slave actuator (called motor , by motor heads)

must move when you slect modes, if not say so. ask for tests.

and last the HVAC drawing. to arrow is fuse. blow.

bottom arrow is P , for clutch.

98 carolla heater blows cold ,I flushed system replace t stat check flow switch its working. when defrost, heat lever in heat position air blows out ac vent.

The mode selector is bad. IF you look at the plenum (where the fan motor is ) you should see two levers one is hot cold the other is mode. Check them by moving the controls and see if they move.
If the mode lever moves then the door on the inside is broken or something could have fallen in the vents and is blocking it.

Heat does not blow onto windscreen but blows through other vents - whats wrong

What make an model an year vehicle do you have ? The air blows out of the floor vents an center vents but not defrost ? Possible mode actuator , stuck mode door ! There is a door inside the heater / A/C assembly that directs the air to the desired position . These doors can be moved by a vacuum operated actuator or an electric motor . Sometimes thing's put on the dash end up inside the heater box , fall through defroster vent ! Pens , pencils etc.. Depends on the make vehicle an system , manual , or automatic climate control . Some of the newer vehicles the HVAC system as it is called , the control panel is a electronic control module an can store DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !

What causes a/c to blows cold on driver's side and hot on passenger side ?

There is a little motor on the heater box under the dash that needs to be replaced. It's called a blend door actuator...

My heat on blows from the defrost how do i fix?

The heat/vent blend door that is located inside of the HVAC system behind dash..Rarely it is the control however it could be....Some of the vent door issues are recalls on certain vehicles."Also Blend vent door actuators that operate the doors can become inoperable...If it is the door inside the HVAC it will probably take about 8 hours to repair...Most vent doors either stick shut and or break..as well as actuators....Only a Dealer Scanner can tell exactly where the problem is.....

Heater Toyota D4D 2007 Verso Side Blows Cold Air driver side warm in passenger side

07 diesel car.
seems to me ,you have a 2007 toyota COROLLA verso.
with the
2.0 L 1AD-FTV I4 turbo diesel, ?
Ill quote wiki.
"The European specification Corolla Verso was available in Europe, Morocco, Kenya and South Africa."
sorry we cant get books on your car, here.(a usa forum)

you have HVAC issues. (heater is that it?)
try to say what works and dont, with heater.
do you have heat in any mode? y/n
does the fan blow? and make that normal blower sound?
if only one part of vents make heat, and not the others
that means the vent damper is failing, or controls to it are failing.
the FSM book covers HVAC, all tests. buy one.
this is USA forum so our books do not match non usa cars.
so what country are you in, ???? we cant guess that.

what to do:
check fuses first.
so got to your (DIY?) dealer buy the factory service manual
read HVAC chapter.
or get car serviced,

my guess is you have a bad damper actuator, cause unknown..
can be controls , wires or a bad damper actuator (or motor)

Heater not blowing hot air

no year,? wow.
but is it blowing cold air. (or dead blower?) ill assume cold fast air.
ok there are only a few ways.
1: ENGINE NOT reaching, 180F temp and holding, (a meter check in 1min flat)
2; the HVAC failure.

check fuses. yet/?
does heater fail in all modes of heat and vent directions?

this sample page works on all cars.
the HVAC details vary but the principles are all the same.

02 grand prix heater vent positions only work one position ,blower works fine

This has a mode door actuator which might be failed ...this actuator moves the mode doors inside the hvac unit that directs air flow to certain vents. This actuator is passenger side behind and adjacent to the glove glove box
