How do i fix a cylinder head on a 02 ford f250 5.4l that threw a spark plug?

Sounds like head gasket again, but may be more serious this time. Overheating is not something to take lightly.

Pull plugs. crank. Water come out of cylinders? Head gasket. Possible cracked block or head this time, too. I'd be looking at a replacement engine.

Actually, rather than replace the head, you can fix the spark plug hole with a "Time-Sert":

I've used these for years, and they work great!
Much better than a Helicoil, as the Time-Sert retains full thread strength!

But....I would STILL recommend removing the head to do this repair, so as to avoid metal chips/shavings from falling into the cylinder, but you'll save the cost of a new head!

How soon after the plugs blew out did the trouble begin ?

Also get obd codes scanned, the error code will let you know which cylinder is misfiring or all cylinders are misfiring.

follow spark plug wires to cylinder heads the spark plug wires will take you to the spark plugs in the cylinder heads.

The cylinder heads will need to have Heli-coil inserts installed. There is a kit available that allows you to do this yourself but I would recommend having it done by a shop that has done them before as you can ruin the heads if you do it poorly.

Do a tune-up or clean your spark plugs.

If your car is overheating and you are getting alot of air in the overflow tank. The air is caused by a blown head gasket the air is compression from the motor. Remove the spark plugs the one that is real clean is the one that the head gasket is leaking into. You should also be seeing white smoke out the tailpipe that is the antifreeze burning in the cylinder. When it burns it will clean the cylinder and the spark plug.Good luck I just had the same problem with a 3.1 in a Cutlass
