I have a boss plow and no matter where i place the plow blade when traveling the temperature is increasing...do you think an electric fan would resolve the problem?

Have you ensured the plow is at the correct angle to the curb?? Is the plow well clear of the radiator to allow good airflow through it?? When you say "Temp is increasing", what exactly do you mean??

It might if it has greater air flow, but a cheaper way might be to find a more aggressive fan blade for the stock drive. Be sure to blow out the radiator core from the engine side to get rid of bugs and other debris. Make sure the belt running the fan is in good condition and is tight. Check the radiator hoses for good condition. A fan 'shroud' that encircles the fan blade for heavy duty air movement might help as well. If the fan has a fluid clutch, it might help to replace the clutch with a solid drive hub. (Noisier though!) Hope some of this helps!

When plowing the trans temp light comes on

I would install an external trans cooler. You figure that plow makes a nice air block for fresh air getting to the cooling pack. You have an AC condenser, probably a power steering cooler, trans cooler, radiator, and if it is a turbo diesel there will be an intercooler for the air to make it thru. If the truck already has a separate trans cooler that is not integrated into the radiator, I would think an electric pusher cooling fan might be the ticket.

Heat indicator is raising while car stop

it is normal for the temperature to increase a little when a vehicle comes to stop this is due to the no air being forced through the vents or grille in front as the car moves forward however the temperature should increase to a set ever then you will hear the electric fan come in automatically that is if the vehicle is fitted with an electric fan

99 chevy s-10 2.2l the temperature is slowly increasing

if you have electric fans, make sure they are working and that there is sufficient coolant in the overflow tank and radiator. If you have a manual fan clutch, try spinning the fan with the engine off, It spins freely or goes around more than once with just a quick push, your fan clutch is bad and needs to be replaced. and it is a fan clutch...not a clutch fan...as people sometimes call it.

Can i have a diagram of what the clutch fan is suppose to look likr in the engine of a 1992 ford ranger

3_26_2012_12_44_11_pm.png

Generic picture. The clutch fan mounts on the water pump, and holds the fan blade. You may notice that with your engine turned off, you can move the fan blade, but it should feel somewhat restricted. The clutch fan works similar to a torque converter in the automatic transmission, allowing the fan to gradually increase speed upon acceleration, allowing the engine more power. As the temperature coming at them increases when the vehicle warms up, the clutch fan should become more rigid, causing the fan to work 100% of the time to keep things cool.

Hope this helps. & good luck!

Check the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor. Both the fans will ground through this sensor. If it is failed, the fans will not come on no matter how warm the engine.

The problem is the plow. It is too much extra for your cooling system. You will need to put in a heavier 3 or 4 core rad to handle the extra weight and restricted air flow caused by the plow. You can also put in a colder thermostat for the winter. It will allow the rad to start doing it's job sooner. It's not likely that the clutch fan is the problem if you don't have overheating problems without the plow. If the truck is an automatic you should also seriously consider putting in a separate transmission oil cooler. Plowing puts serious straiand heat build up on the transmission and a separate oil cooler will save the life of it. Also increase the frequency of changing the trans fluid and filter. Keep the plow off the truck unless it is necessary, this will help a lot. Hope this helps.

2 electric fans from pc in intake tube.....

I don't think those fans will have enough air flow to gain any kind of power. Check on line to see what king of air volume those electric superchargers put out. I don't think it will be worth the effort.
