All lights are supposed to turn off when a subaru key is off right? No! There is a switch on top of the steering wheel column that will turn on lights for warning when parked. You somehow have hit that switch.

Fuel cut off switch or inertia swith on passenger side kicker panel, it might have got accidently kicked while getting out.

Possible dirty fuel filter. I'd start there first, as it's the cheapest route, and quite possibly replacing the filter will solve your problem.

if the car cranks and your fuel pump works with no fire to the plugs then you've got yourself an electical problem. the first thing i would check is the condition of the distributor. does is spin when you crank the engine? if it does the mechanics of your distributor is fine. next make sure all cables on the distributor is properly connected to all distributor ports as well as the battery connection as well.

Engine turns but does not start

Try a new spark plug or just clean the spark plug maybe there's too much carbon on it preventing the metal contacts to ignite properly. Also you can try to replace the battery connectors and terminals.
