Signs a fuel pump is failing

Ford fuel pymps are notorious for the check valve in the fuel pump assembly to fail. The check valve keeps the fuel lines and fuel rail full of pressurized fuel. Borrow a fuel, pressure gauge. The pressure should stay up when you shut the, engine down. If it drops to 0 right away, replace the pump module

2001 ford ranger stalls when idle especially at speeds over 35mph

yep fuel pump failing too weak or fuel filter stopped up, fuel system too lean for engine run higher speed need more fuel.

1994 Ford Ranger Starts runs for 3-4 minutes then dies, changed ignition mod, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, checked vac hoses, totally lost!!!!!

As with any no-start or stall problem you will need to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition issue.
The high idle usually means you have a vac leak or a problem with the throttle body or idle air control valve. The control valve is how the computer controls the idle speed.
You'll need to watch the fuel system and spark to see which is being affected when the engine dies.
You might want to hook a test light up to the coil to see if it is loosing voltage for example.

Ford ranger 1996 4.0L v6 single cab long bed it runs but you have 2 have your foot on the gas it does not stay in idle for more than 5min less than that usually it does not take much gas pedal pressure to...

I would suspect that you have a failing fuel pump, the fuel pump pressure is bleeding off due to a faulty check valve, this causes hard starting esp when cold or after sitting. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be removed to replace the fuel pump assembly.

My 1995 Ranger has been intermittently stalling. Thinking it was a fuel problem, I changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, and this didn't help. I then changed the coolant temperature control valve, and idol...

I would take the vehicle to the dealer or an engine technician who can perform an engine analysis on the vehicle for about $80 or so.

Changing parts may not lead to a solution, in this case.

Intermittent problems like this need to be followed by someone with a scanner for that year.
Unfortunately, the OBD-II system wasn't put on cars and light trucks until 1996 model year.

This 1995 ranger uses an older diagnostic system which the technician will have to be familiar with and have equipment to work on your vehicle.

Good luck on the repair.

89 ranger i was driving than it just stalled. i have spark, i have fuel but no fire. but it wont start, if i put starting fluid in the intake it will run for a second then stall.

If you can keep spraying staring fluid and it stays running then the fuel pump is no pumping. only with a pressure gauge can you test it

Check EGR valve this controls idle speed it might have carbon build up hold the valve open. All so check fuel pressure.
