I would first check to see if it is getting a signal from the crank sensor. Also, have you changed keys or an instrument cluster lately, Because if your PATS ( passive anti theft system) Keys are not programmed to the IC it will not start.

My 2009 ford escape will not start, everything comes on and lights up but it will not start.

If it cranks good, but, won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check for fuel injector pulse, while cranking. Can you check for applicable trouble codes? To check trouble codes, yourself, at the least, you need an obd2 code reader.

If it won't even crank, have to check starter motor and starter wiring circuits. Make sure battery has a full charge.

I give guys and gals the same info, I don't know how else to do it?

2001 ford escape won't start

If you mean "no crank", possible starter issue. check for 12v at the starter signal lead during crank, replace starter if signal is good.

Had to replace the headlight so had to take the battery out replaced headlight put battery back in now it wont crank just a clicking noise

It wont crank, just clicking noise. The battery terminals are not connected properly. Recheck battery connections. If battery connections are properly connected then its possible that starter and starter solenoid are not receiving voltage, due to this its just clicking. Most probably its connection issue between battery terminals or problem with starter and starter solenoid connections. ----- Click this link below for more troubleshooting:--- ---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a 97 powerstroke that won't start. batteries were dead, replaced them, glow plug relay new, fuel filter, starter. truck sounds like it wants to start, i dont think its getting fuel. I recently had...

Suspect gelled fuel and possibly a weak starter or failing starter solenoid.

When you crank a Powerstroke, if you can watch the crankshaft pulley and verbally count the revolutions it's probably not turning fast enough.

A little kerosene in the fuel will help keep it from gelling (a quart or two in a full tank of fuel) as will any of the anti-gel additives. Be sure you're getting winter fuel, as summer blends gel at a much higher temperature.

I've found it to be better to buy fuel at a truck stop than at gas stations. Some of fuel you get from gas stations is of very low quality- especially those gas stations that have little cards that look like credit cards that you scan to get 'bonuses', they tend to have very poor fuel oil.

1989 tempo 2.3 4 cyl 5 speed, runs w/ starter fluid

Hi, The carb is gummed up from sitting. The best solution is to take it apart and clean it. The starter fluid indicates that it has clogged jets or stuck floats. The good news is that if it cranks with the starter fluid everything else is probably OK. Good Luck!
