Question about 1997 Cadillac Eldorado
Possible throttle position sensor(TPS).Does the idle even out if you bring the RPMs up to say 1000?All engines spend most of their time at idle, that area wears out in a TPS first.By barely increasing the engine speed you can get past that dead spot and drive your car normally.Of course that doesn't fix your situation but it helps you understand why it happens and how to continue to drive your car until you can replace it.Duralast / Throttle Position Sensor
TPS140 is only $33 at your local auto parts store.Good Luck!
