The fuel pump resides within the gas tank and removal of the tank itself is required to reach it ...you will need some tools and a jack a 2x4 gas cans a syphon hose to syphon off most of the gas to make it easier a chisel a hammer a jack and jack stand for safety reasons and a bit of patience and mechanical ability /1st i would disconnect the battery + for safety syphon off as much gas as possible , raise the vehicle and use jack stand remove the drivers rear tire , use penetrating oil on the 2 bolts/nuts to the tank disconnect either the filler neck or at the hose and filler pipe but be careful not to allow dirt to get into the tank , loosen the 2 nuts /bolts and get the jack and 2x4 under the tank and remove the 2 nuts./bolts keeping the tank up by jack remove out the way the 2 straps and begin to lower the tank ..1/2 way down reach in and disconnect the power as well as the lines into the tank to allow you to getthe tank down without breaking the lines going in {this may be the hard part just a note }
once the lines are disconnected lower the tank and watch the filler neck while doing so ,once the tank is on the ground bring it out from under the vehicle and remove the retaining clip with the chisel counterclockwise to remove it careful not to bend or disturb the float the pump is now visable as well as the filter to it remove and replace it the way you removed it .........replacing it is the exact reversal of the procedure

Where is the fuel pump relay located in a 1997 chevy blazer 4-dr.

In the glove box behind a plastic panel. There are 3 relays in there. The fuel pump is the one closest to the drivers side.

I need to know how to change the fuel pump on a 1997 chevy tahoe

to remove the fuel pump you mus lower the fuel tank there ae two bolts on the back of the tank spray with wd 40 and use deep well socket 9/16 or 5/8 socket first lossen fuel hose clamp and over fill tube then unscrew the two bolts holding tank to vechicle, use a floor jack and a piece of plywood to lower the tank downone you have the tank on the ground tap the lock ring counter clockwise the tubes and wires come out of the center of the lock ring, tap it with a old wood chisel on two oppiste sides to get it to move once the ring is lose lift the fuel pump amd fuel sending unit out of the tank, replace fuel sock and o-ring on tank lube the o ring before installation and install in reverse proceedure replace main fuel filter, pull tank out and make sure there is no **** in the tank clen if there is. check the pickup tube for cracks. and put it back together and your set to go.

How to change fuel pump in 97 chevy 2500 (cargo

You have to drop the fuel tank. It is inside. Hope the tank is near empty, remove the 2 fuel fill hoses, you have two straps, lower tank, remove 3 wire connectors, and several more lines. Please use an ac delco fuel pump module. It may come updated with a new wiring connector to fix the old ones problem. If it does, you have to rewire the van following the directions.
