Sounds like a throttle position sensor to me but you should call where you had it done and ask them wha it says in the code book.

You never say anything about have a fault code test run on the engine control computer or whether or not you have seen a check engine light. If no testing was done have the system tested again. This can be caused by many things, one that will not set a fault code is the Mass airflow sensor or low fuel pressure to a point.

P0441 what dose it mean and how can I fix it .toyota camery le 1998model

P0441 1998 Toyota Camry - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow

When is the code detected? Pressure in charcoal canister and fuel tank does not drop during purge control (2 trip detection logic).

Possible symptoms: - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible a noticeable fuel odor caused by the release of fuel vapors

P0441 1998 Toyota Camry Description: The Engine Control Module (ECM) tests the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system for the following conditions:
- Large and small leaks

- Excess vacuum

- Purge flow during non-commanded conditions

- Fuel Level and Fuel Pressure sensor faults

- EVAP Purge and Vent Valve faults

The ECM monitors the Fuel Tank Pressure sensor in order to determine the level of vacuum/pressure in the EVAP system. The ECM commands both the EVAP Purge Solenoid and the EVAP Vent Valve ON when the conditions are met in order to apply an engine vacuum to the EVAP system. The ECM commands the EVAP Purge Solenoid OFF once the system has reached a predetermined level of vacuum. This test verifies if a vacuum can be achieved in the EVAP system. Failure to develop a vacuum may be caused by a large leak or a restriction.

The correct place to start with this problem is to scan your engine computer and see if there are any fault codes. They will probably lead you directly to the problem. Otherwise I can only tell you that this can be caused by at least a hundred different parts and circuits throughout your vehicle. You will have to determine if the problem is being caused by spark or by fuel or by BOTH at the same time. This means a WHOLE BUNCH of testing if you don't have any fault codes to go by.

Yep the P0441 is : The evaporative emission control bad purge flow. You wont be able to run the component test for this issue without a good scan-tool of component tester. It may have to do with the flow control valve. It should be located next to the charcoal canister.

I have a 1997 Toyota 4Runner and the Malfunction Indicator Lamp came on today. I took it to Auto Zone for a free diagnostic test and it came back as P0441...Definition: Evaporative emission control system...

The cause of this problem is a faulty gas cap. It is not making a proper seal. Change the cap & reset light with ob11 code reader. There may possibly be a leak elsewhere but this is usually the case. Good luck!
