Question about 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan
It could also be caused by not using the proper viscosity of oil.
I.E. it calls for 5W-30 and because it has hi-mileage and a mechanic or possibly even yourself decides to try 10-W30 or even 40 it makes the pump work harder especially in the cold weather, 9x's out of 10 if that is not the case it is the oil pump, I have rarely seen it where it was sludge causing the problem UNLESS the oil had never been changed in thousands of miles and then you'll find metal shavings!

Had the same problem with 1999 Grand Caravan. Changed out the oil pressure sensor. Had to add a little oil and problem solved. If problem continues, check for sludge in oil pan/clean oil pan screen. Last resort may be oil pump.
