Question about 2002 Pontiac Montana

I removed the duct between the air filter and the throttle bottle. I unplugged electrical connections and removed a tube connected to the duct. The other end of this tube came unconnected and fell out. Now I cannot find where the other end connects to. Can you help?

Check drain and unclog if required.
Remove air cabin filter (see you tube for instructions). Make sure it is done in a clean place so no dust or dirt gets in while you do this.
Block Air Cabin filter opening with duct tape.
Set fan to 50% (3/4), temperature to minimum
AC must be OFF
Open hood and using a Spray bottle, spray half a bottle of Alcohol 70% into the air intake vents at bottom of windshield
Turn off fan
Let it sit for 30 to 60 min
Set temperature to max and fan to max
Open hood and using a Spray bottle, spray the second half (250ml) of a bottle of Alcohol 70% into the air intake vents at bottom of windshield.
Turn heater and fan OFF
Take off duct tape and replace the air cabin filter (new one is better)
If you don't take off the air cabin filter, a lot of the alcohol or disinfenctant (like Lysol) may be stuck in the filter causing an irritating smell.
Replace Air cabin filter if possible.

Loosen the 2 air cleaner intake duct clamps from the Mas Airflow sensor and the throttle body. Disconect Intake Air Temperature sensor connector.
Disconnect the vent tube from the air cleaner intake duct. Disconnect Mas Airflow Sensor electrical connector. Unlatch the air cleaner cover clips and remove the air cleaner intake duct and air cleaner cover.
Change the filter and reinstall.

Heater Core REMOVAL & INSTALLATION CAUTION
Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old. Front 1988-91 R/V SERIES WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the heater hoses at the core tubes and drain the engine coolant. Plug the core tubes to prevent spillage.
  3. Remove the nuts from the distributor air ducts in the engine compartment.
  4. Remove the glove compartment and door.
  5. Disconnect the air-defrost and temperature door cables.
  6. Remove the floor outlet and unfasten the defroster duct-to-heater distributor screw.
  7. Remove the heater distributor-to-instrument panel screws. Pull the assembly rearward to gain access to the wiring harness and disconnect the wires attached to the unit.
  8. Remove the heater distributor from the truck.
  9. Remove the heater core retaining straps and remove the core from the truck. To install:
  10. Install the heater core. Be sure that the case-to-core and case-to-dash panel sealer is intact.
  11. Position the heater distributor. Connect the wires attached to it and then install the heater distributor-to-instrument panel screws.
  12. Install the floor outlet and tighten the defroster duct-to-heater distributor screw.
  13. Connect the air-defrost and temperature door cables.
  14. Install the glove compartment and door.
  15. Install the nuts into the distributor air ducts (in the engine compartment).
  16. Connect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Fill the cooling system and check for leaks.
1988-91 R/V SERIES WITH AIR CONDITIONING
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the heater hoses at the core tubes and drain the engine coolant. Plug the core tubes to prevent spillage.
  3. Remove the glove compartment and door.
  4. Disconnect the center duct from the defroster outlet duct.
  5. Disconnect the center, lower air distributor and the center air outlet ducts.
  6. Disconnect the temperature door cable.
  7. Remove the nuts from the 3 selector duct studs that project into the engine compartment.
  8. Remove the outlet duct-to-instrument panel screws. Pull the assembly rearward to gain access to the wiring harness and disconnect the wires and vacuum tubes attached to the unit.
  9. Remove the heater distributor from the truck.
  10. Remove the heater core retaining straps and remove the core from the case. To install:
  11. Install the heater core. Be sure that the core-to-core and case-to-dash panel sealer is intact.
  12. Position the heater distributor. Connect the wires attached to it and then install the heater distributor-to-instrument panel screws.

  5. In the engine compartment, remove the heater case-to-firewall screws.
  6. Disconnect the antenna cable at the mast.
  7. Remove the glove box.
  8. Disconnect the wiring harness at the engine's Electronic Control Module (ECM).
  9. Remove the ECM and bracket.
  10. Remove the right side kick panel.
  11. Remove the right side lower dash panel bolt and nut.
  12. Remove the heater case mounting bolts.
  13. While lifting the instrument panel slightly, remove the case assembly.
  14. Lift the core from the case. To install:
  15. Lower the core into the case.
  16. Position the case assembly against the firewall.
  17. Install the heater case mounting bolts.
  18. Install the right side lower dash panel bolt and nut.

1991-92 R/V AND 1991-98 C/K SERIES
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
  3. Remove the instrument panel glove compartment.
  4. Tag and unplug all electrical leads as necessary.
  5. Remove the center air distribution duct from the floor.
  6. If necessary, remove the ECM and mounting tray.
  7. Remove the hinge pillar trim panels.
  8. Remove the blower motor cover and then remove the motor.
  9. Remove the steering wheel and tilt back the instrument panel slightly.
  10. Remove the coolant overflow tank. Disengage the heater hoses at the core connections.
  11. Unfasten the attaching screws and nut and then remove the heater case.
  12. Remove the seven screws and lift off the heater case cover.
  13. Remove the fasteners and brackets that hold the heater core to the case and lift the core from the case. To install:
  14. Install the heater core in the case.
  15. Install the heater case bottom plate. Make sure there is a good seal.
  16. Install the heater case into the truck. Tighten the 4 lower screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 Nm); the upper screw to 97 inch lbs. (11 Nm); and the nuts to 25 inch lbs. (2.8 Nm).
  17. Connect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  18. Install the coolant overflow tank.
  19. Install the instrument panel and the steering wheel.
  20. Install the blower motor and cover.
  21. Install the trim panels and if removed, the ECM. Install the air distribution duct and reconnect all electrical leads.
  22. Install the glove compartment. Fill the cooling system and connect the battery cable.
Rear 1988-91 MODELS
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
  3. Disconnect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor wiring harness.
  5. Remove the blower motor clamp.
  6. Remove the motor attaching screws and lift out the motor.
  7. Unfasten the upper-to-lower case half screws and remove the upper case half.
  8. Remove the core seal.
  9. Lift out the core. To install:
  10. Install the heater core.
  11. Install the core seal.
  12. Install the upper case half and then tighten the upper-to-lower case half screws.
  13. Install the motor and then tighten the attaching screws.
  14. Install the blower motor clamp.
  15. Connect the blower motor wiring harness.
  16. Connect the heater hoses at the core tubes.
  17. Fill the cooling system.
  18. Connect the negative battery cable.
1992-98 MODELS
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the engine coolant.
  2. Remove the right rear quarter panel trim and then remove the panel itself.
  3. Remove the right rear wheelhousing liner.
  4. Disconnect the heater hoses from the core.
  5. Unplug the electrical lead. Remove the drain valve.
  6. Remove the heater module.
  7. If necessary, remove the blower motor.
  8. Remove the heater case cover.
  9. Remove the heater case cover and then remove the heater core. To install:
  10. Install the heater core and then install the heater case cover.
  11. If removed, install the blower motor.
  12. Remove the heater module.
  13. Attach the electrical lead. Install the drain valve.
  14. Connect the heater hoses to the core.
  15. Install the right rear wheelhousing liner.
  16. Install the right rear quarter panel and then install the trim.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable and fill the engine with coolant.

How to remove intake manifold on 2005 Buick Lesabre


You didn't post the size of your engine so please pick the appropriate one:

3.8L
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  2. Drain the cooling system.
    1. Remove or disconnect the following:
    2. Negative battery cable
    • Supercharger
    • Thermostat housing
    • Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube at the intake manifold
    • Engine Control Temperature (ECT) sensor
    • Intake manifold
  • To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:
      • Intake manifold with new gaskets. Torque the bolts, working from the center out, to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
      • ECT sensor connector
      • EGR tube to the intake manifold
      • Thermostat housing
      • Supercharger
      • Negative battery cable
    2. Refill and bleed the cooling system.
    3. Run the engine and check for leaks and proper engine operation.
    4.6L
    4.6L Engine
    1. Remove the brake booster hose from the throttle body.
    2. Remove the fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube from the fuel pressure regulator and the water crossover.
    3. Remove the PCV fresh air feed tube from the camshaft cover and the throttle body.
    4. Remove the PCV dirty air tube from the PCV orifice in the right camshaft cover and from the intake manifold.
    5. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
    6. Remove the fuel injector wiring harness.
    7. Remove the fuel rail bracket nut from the engine lift bracket.
    8. Remove the fuel rail studs.
    9. Lift and remove the fuel rail with injectors.
    10. Loosen the plenum duct clamp in order to remove the intake manifold.
    11. Remove the intake manifold bolts.
    12. Remove the intake manifold.

    To install:

    1. Install the intake manifold, fitting the plenum duct over the intake manifold duct.
    2. Loosely install the intake manifold bolts.

    Intake manifold torque sequence-4.6L engine


    1. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence. Tighten the intake manifold bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    2. Tighten the plenum duct clamp to the intake manifold. Tighten the plenum duct clamp to 24 inch lbs. (2.75 Nm).
    3. Inspect the fuel injector O-rings. Ensure the fuel injector O-rings are not missing, misaligned or damaged. Replace the O-rings if necessary.
    4. Lubricate the intake manifold fuel injector bores with light mineral oil (GM P/N 9981704), clean engine oil, or equivalent.
    5. Install the fuel rail with fuel injectors as an assembly.
    6. Install the fuel rail studs. Tighten the fuel rail studs to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
    7. Install the fuel rail bracket nut to the engine lift bracket. Tighten the fuel rail bracket nut to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    8. Install the fuel injector wiring harness.
    9. Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors to the fuel injectors.
    10. Install the PCV dirty air tube to the PCV orifice in the right camshaft cover and to the intake manifold.
    11. Install the PCV fresh air feed tube to the camshaft cover and the water crossover.
    12. Install the fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube to the fuel pressure regulator and the throttle body.
    13. Install the brake booster hose to the throttle body.

    When i turn on heater or fan engine revs over 3000 rpm


    Idle Air Control Valve Pintle may be bad If you disconnect the IAC and the problem ceases it can point to this being the problem.: Removal & Installation 3.5L Engine To Remove:
    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
    2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
    3. Drain the cooling system.
    4. Remove or disconnect the following:
      • The air cleaner intake duct. Figure of IAC and TPS electrical connectors disconnected. aurora_g1.gif

      • The idle air control (IAC) valve and throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connectors. Figure of cruise control and throttle control cables removed from throttle lever. aurora_g2.gif

      • The cruise control cable and throttle control cable from the throttle body lever.
      • The fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose, positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and the throttle body vacuum port hose.
      • The throttle body coolant hoses.
      • The throttle control cable bracket, leaving the throttle and cruise cables connected.
      • The upper nut holding the throttle body to the intake manifold.
      • The throttle body assembly.
    5. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
    To Install:
    1. Install a new gasket and new studs if necessary.
    2. Install or connect the following:
      • The throttle body assembly.
      • Start the top nut by hand.
      • The throttle body coolant hoses.
      • Position the throttle control cable bracket and hand start the retaining nuts and bolt.
      • Torque the three throttle body retaining nuts to 89 in.lbs. (10 Nm). And the bracket retaining bolt to 115 in.lbs. (13 Nm).
      • The throttle body vacuum port hose, PCV valve hose and the fuel pressure regulator hose.
      • The throttle control and cruise control cables to the throttle body lever.
      • The IAC valve and TP sensor electrical connectors.
      • The air intake duct.
    3. Refill the cooling system.
    4. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
    4.0L Engine To Remove:
    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
    2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
    3. Remove or disconnect the following:
      • Negative battery cable.
      • The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
      • The air cleaner intake duct.

      • The cruise control cable and throttle control cable from the bracket.

      • The throttle body from the water crossover.
    To Install:
    NOTE: The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor inlet and the outlet of the air cleaner assembly must line up when installed. Misalignment may cause MIL illumination or driveability concerns.
    1. Install or connect the following.
      • The throttle body to the water crossover. Torque the bolts to 106 in.lbs. (12 Nm).
      • The IAC valve and TP sensor electrical connectors.
      • The throttle and cruise control cables to the throttle body lever.
      • The throttle and cruise control cables to the throttle control cable bracket. The transaxle shift cable clip to the throttle control cable bracket.
      • The fuel feed and return line retainer to the throttle control cable bracket.
      • The MAF sensor electrical connector.
      • The air cleaner intake duct clamp. Torque the clamp to 27 in.lbs. (3Nm).
      • The PCV valve fresh air tube.
      • The fuel injector sight shield. Torque the nuts to 20 in.lbs. (2.3 Nm).
    2. Install the negative battery cable.
    3. Pressurize the fuel system and verify no leaks.

    Where is the Air Flow Meter/Mass Air Sensor on a 1993 Mercury Sable and it is easy to replace?


    The MAF or mass air flow sensor is located on a tube connecting the air filter box to the throttle body. Just unplug the connector and unscrew the sensor then pull it out.

    Check engine light come on and the idle is real low


    unsure which engine model you have. is a real common problem here with gdi v6 models,cleaning air mass meter(usually in ducted pipe connected to air filter) and throttle body with bottle brush and good carbon removing solvents restores the idle speed and ecl should go out. engine may be covered by plastic cover,this removes easily 4-6 bolts and allows access to throttle body failing that low idle could be limp mode.it triggers when either a major sensor faults or more that 3-4.the ecu will need to be checked for fault codes and then a plan of repair will be more effective

    idle valve or posibly your oxygen sensor you need to get it plugged in on a diagnostics ( only around £30-£40) and it will give you the exacy fault
