Your rear brake light switch might need replacing, you can get free advise from any mechanic about that... As for your heater, hows the radiators cooling system flowing and when was the last time you had it checked or serviced for a thorough clean flush. But first of all, check weather you need to top up with water to max level. The coolant level between min and max is concidered ok, but indicating a leak from 1 of the cooling system hoses, you need only to find and tighten the hose clamps .If the reservior level is below 1/2 way, It is recommended to service the radiators cooling system... replacing the thermostat would be an upgrade to elimanate a possibilty, which requires mechnical assistance and obviously as a last resort to have done... replacing any heater relays and blown fuses is a bonus but also a possiblity...a faulty heater tap causes heater problems. Again asking for free mechnical advise for this or some 1 else who can visually check that its working as you adjust the heater temprature switch while checking for leaks and rough operating sounds from the heater motor under the dash port ...checking faulty heater switchs...then theres taking the whole front dash port out to get at the heaters motor, which im sure you probably wont have to do as you mentioned that the fans are working.
if the motor does't work at all then it's probably the motor,if the resister is gone you should still have high,it does'nt go through the resister.you may have a bad ground to the resister, you may need a relay.
