Question about 2002 Cadillac Deville
There are a number of things that could be causing this condition. To name a few, broken wires in the door jam, bad master switch, bad power window motor or bad window regulator. The other windows work properly? Did you hear a noise when you found the window will no longer go up? Does the window feel loose, can it be pulled up or pushed down? The first step is to remove the door trim panel and inspect the regulator. Cadillac uses a cable style regulator (window lift), it's not uncommon for the cable to get tangled or simply snap, resulting in a window that will no longer operate. If that checks out OK back probe the window motor with a digital volt meter and with the ignition on, press the window button and note the voltage reading. Should be around 12, or -12, depending if your pressing up or down. If you have power there the motor will have to be replaced. The motor and regulator are sold as a complete unit and is fairly easy to replace and reasonably priced at around $150.
