2000 lincoln ls rear window defroster not working

There is no BODY CONTROL module,but there is a Front Electronic module FEM, and a rear electronic module,REM (not the rock group,LOL!).
The FEM is located behind the driver's kick panel and the FEM is located on the right side down in the trunk.
The REM controls: Rear windows, , all rear lights, trunk opening, fuel door release, rear window defrost grid, trunk ajar switch, front passenger door lock, , front passenger door lock switch,rear door locks, trunk light, fuel pump, fuel level senders, antenna booster.

Remove the door panel and check things out. Them I'll answer your remaining issues.

Firmly press down on the brake light cover. Press down into the rear deck. This will release the bezel from the teeth on the metal housing. Now slide it forward ( toward the front of the car) while holding it firmly pressed down into the rear deck. Once removed you will see how the metal teeth on the bottom of the metal housing bracket bit into the plastic bezel.

Sorry. I have a 2004. I think a trip back to the Auto Glass Shop is what I would do.

I would have to guess it is your rear u-joint is going to have to be replaced. Or your pinion in the rear end is loose or faulty.

the fan will also run if on the front defrost settings

You need a window regulator, and should do the motor at the same time.
