Audi A6 2000 wont start

you have lost the immobilizer code. have you tried ignition to number 2 with lights on and press fob to lock then unlock doors. then try to start the engine. a flat battery for to long can wipe the code of the fob and ecu link if the battery has been off or flat for a to long period. only way to repair lost codes is a tec2 and your pass code for your vehicle. and if you dont have the pass code it can cost a fair bit to get the code from a dealer as they keep them on file for years then they get put back to back up after then and can take a bit of finding. if you battery in the future if you have a battery fail its best to put a good battery on again as soon as posible to stop this happening again.

1999 audi a6 wont crank sometimes

Either there is a bad or dirty battery connection which is allowing the lights but no crank or you could have dirty or loose starter wires or starter relay may be bad or ignition is a possibility. All these can be tested with an ohmmeter for power. I would start with connections

Starter is turnig but not firing

Starter switch. Plastic and cheap, my 98 A6 did the same thing... I replaced thousands in parts, turned out to be a cracked ignition switch which is a very common Audi problem!
