1st you need to read the trouble codes using the check engine light blink method, go to the link below, repair any problems found.
http://check-engine-light-codes.blogspot.com/2006/03/gm-1983-95-vehicles-obd1-codes-self.html

If no codes show u will need to have a shop do a fuel pressure leak down test, since this involves a special pressure tester it is cheaper to pay someone to do it rather than just buy the tool, here is what happens if the pump doesn't hold pressure after the engine is shut off, the fuel drains back from the fuel lines and the fuel filter into the tank, when you try to start the engine the engine cranks over a long time before starting and then when it does start it will stall and after about 2 or 3 stalls finally stays running, the little check valve that keeps the pressure in the line is part of the fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank and is a part of the fuel pump module.

95 blazer fuel prob's.

It drops when it is turned off through the return the pump might be getting weak If you keep using the starting fluid you will blow the intake off of it or it will get hooked on it and won't start without it.

I saw what you replaced, didn't see any testing? Any applicable trouble codes? Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, TBI--9--13 psi. As an example, 5 psi fuel pressure makes a nice looking injector spray pattern, but, 5 psi won't start and run a v8. My opinion.
Could be other issues.

Won't start. I've replaced the fuel filter, the spark plugs, wires, and ignition coils. Will run off of starting fluid, but not by itself. Checked fuel pressure and it's coming up around 40. What else...

SOUND LIKE FAULTY FUEL PUMP OR BAD PUMP RELAY. IF YOU SPRAY STARTER FLUID AND VECHICLE RUNS.ITS NOT GETTING FUEL..NEXT TIME ENGINE STALL OUT.GET A FUEL PRESSURE READING.DONT TURN ON THE IGNITION .IF FUEL PRESSURE READS ZERO YOU KNOW YOU HAVE FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY OR FUEL PUMP RELAY FAULTY.

My 95 blazer 4.3 will not start, it cranks, has

Try replacing the fuel filter, but it sounds like you have a weak fuel pump. Your cold start pressure should be 62-65 psi and drop about 5 psi when the engine is running. Anything less then 62 psi is going to cause you to have starting issues, you can also test your fuel pump by blocking off the return line to see if you get 75-78 PSI. this is just a test to see if your fuel pump is still good. If you have less then that with the return line blocked off, replace your fuel pump but check your ground wire first. The ground wire is separate from the wire harness and grounded to the frame and a bad ground will give you a weak pump.
Thank you for using Fixya and good luck

1996 Olds Aurora will not start.

It could be many things, heres a list of basics you could check.
  1. wore or lose drive belt
  2. bad alternator
  3. bad battery
  4. clogged fuel filter
  5. bad fuel pump
  6. clogged fuel injectors
  7. faulty spark plugs or spark plug wires
  8. check the timing
  9. faulty ignition coil
  10. clogged air filter
  11. battery terminal connections loose or corroded.

Hard to start in the morning. Also stalls

This sounds like a fuel pump check valve problem, if the fuel is not kept in the filter and lines by the check valve it drains back into the fuel tank and causes the kind of problems you are having, you can check this by hooking up a fuel pressure guage at the test port on the fuel manifold that supplies fuel to the injectors, run the engine and shut it down, note the fuel pressure at shut down (with the test guage hooked up), walk away for an hour, come back and check the pressure, it should not have dropped more than 5 PSI You can buy a universal fuel injection pressure tester for about $25.00, cheaper than having a shop run the test. If the pressure drops you found the problem, bad news is the check valve is in the pump, the pump is in the gas tank.

Need to get a scan tool and look at the data stream while it is running for alot more info. Also any trouble codes.Sounds like initially, the engine isn't getting any fuel.I would have a pressure gauge connected to the fuel rail on the engine,so i could monitor the fuel pressure while all this is going on.Items to look at on the data stream would be timing, what timing is the PCM commanding for the engine. Also, have you checked for continuos power feed to the coils during this no start condition, and fire at the plugs while cranking. You could possibly still have spark, but maybe it is extremely weak?I have seen bad ignition switches cause weird problems before too. Many things power up through the ignition switch, just a thought.Have also seen bad PCM's cause strange problems..38 volts is a little on the low side for GM.Usually see those at,at least .50 and up,and rise steadily while pressing the throttle,up to just under 5.0 volts.Potentiometer with 5 volt supply.Vacuum leak can be checked with engine running at a steady idle speed, spray brake cleaner all around the intake manifold and listen for engine speed change.
