Alarm goes off when new battery in placed in car, when alarm finally goes off and we try to start the car the alarm goes off again and the car won't start. I do not have a key chain with an alarm deactivator. I bought the car used and was only given a regular key.

Hello. If you have a FACTORY alarm system, the deactivte prodedure is to cycle the key off-on (not to start) 5 times, in the ignition. This feature is provided in case you lose the remote, or the remote battery goes dead.

Note: this will only work with the Factory system. If you have an aftermarket system, this answer will no benefit you.

SAVE radio code and remove the negative battery cable,turn on the headlight switch for 30 seconds,turn back off,start truck.

try this: dicinnect battery fir 15 minutes , then reconnect. turn the key to the on position for 15 minutes , then try to start. You may need to reestablish communication in the vehicle.

Jumpstarting cars with electronic ignition is not a good idea. Your car is also fitted with an immobilizer, hence the alarm going off. Get someone to drive you to a place that sells suitable batteries, and fit the new one. You should be fine.

you can try switching the key to the "on" position then open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and reconnect after 2minutes. this will allow the alarm to be '"reset" and will recognize that you have the key for the vehicle.
