Question about 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab

2 Answers

I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4, the heater will not blow hot air. I have checked heater core and radiator and neither are clogged. I am wondering if there is a switch or a rod in the dash that works this? If so is there a diagram of where it's located?

My front heater blows out cold air only and only blows on defrost........was wondering if it could be relay switch?

Might want to also check your actuator. You can also check by touch, both heater hoses that go into the vehicle by the firewall. If they are both hot, you know that warm water is circulating. If, however, only one hose is hot, then you might have a clogged heater core or bad thermo-stat. To confirm a bad T-stat, touch both upper and lower radiator hoses which should be hot. If only one hot, you have a bad component.

I have a 2004 Dodge ram 1500 5.7. Luke warm heat

are you talking about your heater core for heat in the truck ? is there a valve in the heater hose that you have to open to get the hoses hot to the core this is under the hood , follow the hoses , could be clogged core , does it over heat , or get up to temp should be about 190 normal temp for most motors why did you change these parts anyhow , did you use the radiator fix bars leak stuff that you put in , bars leak , if so you may have clogged your core , take the hoses off the core and blow it out ,pain in the but you went this far , ck for that valve to open

I have a 01 dodge ram pickup the heater doesn't work in both hoses to the heater core r hot a brand new radiator and thermastat put it and the heater blend door was broke so I have function to move the...

Do you have heat when you rev it up? You could have a blocked/clogged heater core. Try back flushing the heater core in both directions to try and clear any deposits. Also if there has been any kind of stop leak added it can clog heater cores right up. Also verify that temp blend door stays in proper position.

Heater not blowing hot air

Yup, flush the coolant ayatemavoid using Barsaleak type leak treatments for leaks. They are notorious for clogging up.heater. cores.
a fresh air actuator door can also get stuck open allowing cold fresh air which in wintertime feels like no hot air at all. I think this door is actuated by vacuum hose.

heater cores have small bypases in them try using a blow gun with air unhook both line make sure there is water in it .try both ways.be careful not to slash your self or get it in your eyes .also you can get the truck to operating temperature check heater hoses to see if they're the same temp.
if not its clogged up

Heater doesn't blow hot air

First check the coolant level in the radiator. Check your heater core hoses on the firewall underneath the hood. Let the car come up to temp. and feel the two hoses. If only one of them is getting hot you may have bad heater core or a bad heater control valve.

The heat in my 2002 hyundai sonata doesn't work, Help!!!

Is the fan working and blowing air but there is now heat?

If there is no heat and air is blowing out check your radiator level. If the engine coolant is too low water will not get to your heater core. Remeber check the radiator level and not just the coolant reservoir. Becareful when working around a hot car. wait til the car cools down to check the level of the coolant in the radiator.
