Question about 2004 GMC Envoy

1 Answer

My 2002 GMC Envoy xl fan switch has 5 levels but the fan only works on levels 4&5. I heard there is a switch under the dash in the duct line, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your help, I replaced the resistor and I now have the selections back. Now, when the defrost is selected the alternator drops from 14.5 amps to 11.0 amps, and the engine will stall while in park when the defrost or a/c is selected. Any Ideas here??

Your looking for the blower resistor. Its on the passenger side under the dash. Two of the wires go the the blower motor. The wire connector and the resistor can burn or corrode. The replacement is easy two screws hold the resistor in and the connector can be replace with **** connectors.

The air conditioning in my 2004 GMC Envoy keeps cutting off & on what would cause that to happen

Could also be your fan motor going bad. If it cuts out, immediately turn the fan speed to 5. If it comes back on, replace the fan motor located under your dash beneath the glove box.

2005 GMC Envoy XL High Speed Blower not working

if the other speeds work it is probably the blower resistor; if applies varying resistance to the voltage running the blower; this allows the fan to run at different speeds; should be located very close to the blower motor; behind a panel under the passenger side of the dash

Brake lights not working on GMC Envoy 2002, checked bulbs and I think the correct fuse

On the brake pedal under dash is a switch that is actuated when pedal is depressed. depress pedal and check that the switch is being depressed. if not the switch can be adjusted by a nut on the neck of the switch. Good luck!

Yes. This is a all too common problem. Replace the resister and it will work like new. Its located under the passenger side dash panel on the under side. Two screws and a plug and your done in 20mins.
