Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Galant

I just asked this question a minute ago but I want to clarify a little more. Got a buddy of mine who is having a car issue and was hoping you guys could help out. We are wondering if bad CV joints can lead to a thunk on initial acceleration. He said it only does it on the first heavy acceleration. After that he doesnt hear it again. He also says not all the time, but sometimes when he first puts the car in gear starts moving and turns the steering wheel, he hears a light clang coming from underneath the car, but then he never hear it again. Now he said it feels as though the car is shifting harder, because now he can even distinctly feel the car shifting into 4rth and 5th gear which I don't believe is normal? He says also at higher speeds he can feel vibrations in the car. What is confusing him is that his car is only 6 months old. Also there is no clicking when turning the wheel from one extreme to the other, as is common for bad Cv joints. See the thing about my friend he always steers the car while stationary even though I instruct him not to. Could this have damaged his Cv joints? Took to dealer and they told him nothing was wrong. It is a 2009 Honda Civic. If it is a Cv joint, is there anything he possibly could have done to damage it? Or could it somehow have been a faulty part? I am completely stumped so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds to me more like a bad motor mount than CV joint. And that would be harder to see unless the engine were shifted in the compartment when the technician was looking.

leave the key in the ignition with the ignition in the RUN position for fifteen minutes. The security light should quit flashing. Your car should now start. Quickly drive to a locksmith who deals with cars or any GM dealer or certified shop. This is a well-known issue with many GM cars. 1999 Chevy blazer. Changed fuel pump, wont stay running.engine revs up and down, if I try to push in the gas pedal to see if it will clear up, it bogsdown and dies. Could this be the fuel pressure...

Yes sounds like a regulator issue. On the 99 blazer the regulator is under the plastic intake plenum and is a part of the fuel injection spider. I would also check for vacuum leaks and your idle air solenoid.

Pretty sure i know what the issue is i have had it happen.. Its the security system failing it really common i GM vehicles i guess. I took mine in and they wanted a ridiculous amount of money to fix it so i did a ton of research and found a module that you can install yourself i did mine 5 years ago and i havent had a problem since. check it out they have great customer service and if for some reason it does not work out they will refund you 100% hope this helps ya Do It Yourself GM Security bypass

What is the easiest way to change the front left fog lamp bulb on a 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited?

Had mine changed last week in a garage. The guy litterally reached in with his arm and after a little gymnastic, he twisted it out. He didn,t take anything apart. Bulb : 20$, Laber 10$, Took him 10 minutes and I didn't get dirty.

No Reverse, Automatic transmision

I'm not sure what's wrong, but do you have 4x4?
if so, but it in 4 low, and try reverse then. you may be able to get a little bit out of it.
That's what a buddy of mine did when he lost his reverse, he popped it into 4 low and he could back up a little bit. Not sure how, but it worked.

you may want to repost this though, seeings how I couldn't help you solve issue.

The starter keeps dying on my Taurus and needs replacement. last one is 3 months, before that 3 weeks and one prior less than 1 yr. Mechanic said he even smoothed out a rough spot on the fan and can't...

Can I ask where are you getting the starter from? is it the right size for you car. I had a 96 Taurus and only had to mine once. Lost mine a few years ago in the hurricane( live in New Orleans). ford has several different starters for the Taurus depending on engine size. Call your dealership to find out what starter you need. Your local auto parts store then can get you the right one. You can change this yourself. It takes about 45 minutes for a beginner. If you want to change it yourself. I'm here to tell you how. its just a ratchet, extensions, sockets, and a couple of wrenches. that's all, oh, and a little elbow grease.

ok, I have answered this twice for you. What answer would you like to see? The information is the same as you previously posted. You have a problem that is warranty covered or should be that needs to be repaired. Steering the vehicle when it is stationary will not damage the CV joints. How could he have damaged it, hmmm, Pot hole, hitting curb, bottoming vehicle, driving the vehicle like he's on a race track beyond what it was designed for to name a few causes. If you want to hear he has a lemon no one can tell you that because the problem you described by itself doesn't indicate that.

Get a Volt meter or a circuit test tester and test and see if your getting any power to the starter it self.

I would recomend getting a manual from a local parts store. Also if you are still having trouble these guys can sometimes be a valuable sorce of information and it is free to ask them. Sometimes if you go to a reputable dealership the guy at the parts desk may be nice enough to print a diagram out for you. I would call around and ask first this might save some time. A little advice given to me years ago was to disassemble one side at a time so if you run into a problem you can use the one you have not tore down as a referance. I hope this has been helpful. Found this on internet for mine (can't remember where). Checking on serviceablity for ujoints etc to clarify but heard this from another mechanic one day.

noise you are describing is normal for landcruisers with some miles on
them. The noise is drivetrain backlash, while it may not be in
specification 100%, it is fine to continue driving.
Basically the backlash is all the "slack" that is in your system... starts in the transmission,
then you add in the driveshafts slack, them the rear differentials...
all of that combined equals slack that when you let off the gas "thumps
or clunks".
I believe that your driveshaft is not a rebuilable (checking on this)
type (no servicable u-joints=toyota thing) and replacing just that
probably would not be enough to make it go all away.
For 190k, again, this sounds very normal and will cause you no issues.
