the car is a 97 with a 3800 ser II The engine will turn over but will not start, Yes I have checked the coil packs and all three have good fire when the engine will not start. I have also checked the fuel pressure and I have about 50 psi on the rail. I put a new igition module, coil packs, head gaskets, fuel pump, fuel filter. Ok, I can probably help you, but I need a little bit more information. What year is it and which engine does it have? When it doesn't start, do you mean it doesn't crank over, or that it cranks, but doesn't start? If it cranks but doesn't start, does it have spark and fuel then?

I would locate TDC #1 and mark it on the crank pulley and front cover if there are no marks already there. Then, when it's acting up, check it with a timing light to make sure it's firing when it should. If you have spark, fuel, and compression, about the only thing left is timing. A defective cam sensor could cause that.

Fire is good, injector pulse is good, but how much pressure does the fuel pump have during this problem? It is possible, the fuel pump is going bad,and going out with warm up.Check fuel filter,to see if it is stopping up.Also the coolant sensor, may be bad,and either leaning out the fuel,or enriching it to much.

DO YOU TOP OFF when you fuel up?

Few extra ounce of gasoline inside the EVAP system can cause hot restart problem.

EVAP system is design to slow vent out vapour only.

==

Locate the charcoal canister near the front bumper and remove the plastic hose.

Let the gasoline vapour vent out door for 3-5 hours (more if possible) and re-attach hose.

You any need a short burst of starting fluid to restart.

DO NOT OVER FILL or TOP OFF GAS TANK.

Please rate my answer if it works out for you.

Thanks

1997 jeep Cherokee exhaust manifold glows red &starts running rough cuts off hard to start once warm took off cat still have problem thinking bad gas

Sounds like you have a timing issue(firing after TDC, bad, pushing still burning fuel mix out the exhaust), so grab a timing light and check to make sure the engine is firing at the correct time before TDC. Your Cat convertor shouldn't be a problem.

2006 f350 super duty diesel start good in the mornings but after is warm it wont start.

these trucks use a oil fired fuel injector, if your high pressure oil pump has eccessive wear or if your oil to broken down from being run to long between oil change, it will not build enough oil pressure to fire the injector once the oil is thinned out from being hot. An oil leak in your high pressure oil system can cause same problem.

Good Evening, you might want to check those injectors, I can not remember for certain but that setup was sequential and when one or two have a problem it would take out the rest. Ohm out the injectors and see what you have there.

My 1996 Gmc K2500 with a 7.4l is miss firing. runs good till it warms up, then the problem starts. I have no codes in the computer. new fuel filter, spark plugs, air filter

Very good chance that it's bad fuel injectors and/or fuel pressure regulator. Very common with the 96-2000 L29 motor (Vortec 7.4L)
Replace with better injectors, the OEM ones are NOT WORTH cleaning. Go to http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/technical-maintenance/213662-96-99-454-vortec-owners.html

6.6 liter deisel engine will not fire after it is warmed up

heat related issues usually
fuel blockage or electrical resistance to ignitors...run on indicates fuel issues at pressure head not shuttign off fuel.. so check there first...also many related engine management sensors are related to fuel dilvery so get code checked and computer tested/.... good luck
