Open the tailgate. Under the carpet close to the tailgate lock is a bolt head. Use your wheel brace to rotate this nut counter clockwise several turns. This will release and lower your spare. Keep turning the nut until you can unhook the carrier and drop the spare down. Watch out though, if you unwind the bolt too far, the carrier will drop off the threads and can land on your feet (ouch!!).

All you need is the wheel brace which should be in your vehicles tool kit. The big wrench that you use to loosen the wheel nuts is the same tool to use with the big nut that holds your spare in place. Just unwind it using this tool.
If you are going to change the wheel yourself, turn the engine off, apply the parking brake and put the vehicle in gear if it is a stick shift. Then use the wheel brace to loosen the nuts BUT DONT REMOVE THEM YET!!! Just loosen them.
Next, use the jack to lift the vehicle off the wheel. How you do this is dependent upon which type of jack is supplied with your vehicle. Once the wheel is off the ground, remove the nuts all the way and pull the wheel away from the vehicle. Place the spare back on the vehicle and line up the studs or bolt holes. Replace all the wheel nuts or studs and tighten them with the brace. Lower the jack and remove it from the vehicle. Using the wheel brace, retension all the wheel nuts or studs again, they need to be tight or a wheel may fall off..replace all the tools into the vehicle, rehook the spare carrier and tighten its bolt and place the wheel you have left into the back to remind you to get it fixed (if it's flat)..
Alternatively, ask a passing motorist for help..

How do i release the spare tire on my 2005 Kia Sedona

Hi, the spare tire is stored on the underside of the vehicle, under the right-side cargo door. The bolt is located in a recessed area that is protected by a small square plastic covering. To remove the spare tire, find and remove the bolt cover, then use your lug nut wrench to loosen the bolt holding the tire.
Remove the spare tire fastener's plastic cover, place the lug nut wrench onto the lug nut holding the tire onto the bolt, turn the wrench in a counter-clockwise direction until the tire is released and reaches the ground.

I am unable to get the spare tire released. It is under the bed. How do I release the spare?

there is usually some sort of crank eaither by our bumper or underneath by the spare tire crank that and the tire should slowly come down to the ground.

Where is spare tire located?

The spare should be under the vehicle and it releases by removing a little 1/4 turn cap just inside the rear hatch area and on the floor..You then use the lug wrench to turn the bolt inside the small well under the cap in a counterclockwise direction and the spare will drop down so you can unhook a catch underneath the bumper and lower the rack to the ground and pull the spare out--To reinstall you reverse the process...If you turn the bolt too far it will separate from the sleeve into which it is attached and the spare will quickly drop to the ground--If this happens be sure to reinsert the bolt into the sleeve before attempting to reinstall the spare..

I cant get the spare out from underneath. there

Check your Owners Manual for the location of the Spare Tire Release. Either underneath the carpet, or behind a cover: there should be a Nut shaped Spare Tire Release that you have to turn (should be counterclockwise) which turns the cable mechanism, which will lower the spare tire. Once the cable has been fully extended, pull the spare tire out from underneath the vehicle. Move the tire slightly back "up" onto the cable and turn the "cap" so you can fit the cap back through the hole in the middle of the tire.

Unloading spare tire 2005 trailblazer

After you open the rear hatch look on the sill of the frame on the right hand side of the truck. You must insert the Jack crank into the hole and turn it counter clockwise to release the holder and the tire will tilt down from underneath. If it does not release then you may have to pull it down as the mechanism has been known to seize. After you open the rear hatch look on the sill of the frame on the right hand side of the truck. Where is the spare tire located in a 2000 Dodge Caravan

The Spare tire is under the Van between the Rear bumper and axle.
Check in the cargo area. There is a nut that lowers the spare tire on a cable hidden under a flap in the carpet.
If the tire does not come down all the way then the safety catch is stuck. The tire will come down a few inches and hang by the plastic t-bone holder. You'll need to get underneath the car and either reach over the tire or up in the center hole to release it. It is thinner than the main cable and hard to get at, but with some effort and good hard tug it will release.
It's a horrible design flaw.
After you finally get the spare tire off, you should either lubricate the release catch liberally or disable it completely so you're not stuck again.
Good luck and hope this helps.

How do I release the spare tire from under my van? 94 Dodge Caravan

It is underneath the van at the back. Open the rear hatch door and look for a little piece of carpet cut in a square on the right side. Lift that and there should be a bolt there that you can turn with the tire wrench. That will lower the tire.

Spare Tyre

There is usually a bolt to release it under the carpet/floor in the cargo area. There may be a cap over the bolt also. It will be directly over the center of the spare tire.

How do you release the spare tire underneath the truck?

The spare is held in place by a cable that is cranked up and down with a tool that is stored with the jack, the access hole for the tool to crank the spare down is in the rear bumper in most trucks, look underneath to see it and be sure.
