Thanks, I did have it to AutoZone and they said the alternator is OK. This is a new battery, but I had the battery for 2 months without using it. I will take the battery out tomorrow and take back to AutoZone where I purchased it and see if it bad.

    Brian.

Hello. Generally, one of three problems cause the symptoms you are having. First of all, you could have a bad battery, second, you could have a bad charging system and finally you could have a short in your electrical system which is sucking the power out of your battery. This is what I want you to do. Jump your car and drive it to an auto zone or other auto parts store where they can check your battery, and your charging system either isolating or eliminating these two problems. If both the battery and the charging system are ok then you will have to go to an autoelectric shop and have them isolate your short so it can be repaired. Regards, Joe

1998 jaguar xk8 needs a jump start. Won't work with my other car, do I need more voltage?

the jump cables are faulty the volt meter is reporting the open circuit volts/ ie no load when you crank the engine the load will drop the voltage so the jump cable is partially or open circuit when something takes current the voltage drops thats ohms law try some differant jump cables

I have a 2005 Jaguar S Type and want to know if I can jump start the battery like you do other cars?

It can be jumped. Check for remote jump starting posts under the hood. If there are none, then whichever is easier: jump the battery or remove it and charge it up.

I have a jaguar 2004 X type 3.0 when I turn the key to start it just clicks

Sounds like a dead battery. To verify, try jump starting -if it starts with a jump then you need a battery.

How do I jump start my Jaguar S-Series without getting into the trunk? Battery completely run down and trunk won't open.

Your local walmart should have something called a "memory saver" in their display of battery chargers. Basically it plugs into your cigarette lighter and attaches to a 9v battery. Mechanics use them to keep radio stations and such in the cars memory while changing the main 12v battery. You might be able to plug this in and have enough juice to activate the power trunk release. Other than that if you had access to the engine you could connect the red jumper to the big wire coming from the alternator and the black wire to a suitable ground.

Battery is dead on my 2003 Jaguar S-Type, how do I get into the trunk?

You will need a jump box or an external 12 volt power source.

Attach the negative to the frame ground.

Attach the positive to the starter MAIN (larger) cable.

Pop the trunk

Remove the jumper box connection and start charing the battery.

Please rate my answer if it's useful to you.

No power to starter motor solenoid

Jump starting should not cause any problem with the starter solenoid unless the battery terminals are real corroded, and the jumper cables dislodged any connection that may have been made through the corrosion.
