Although you charged the battery and it can power the lights, it may be too weak to crank the engine over. Since you had the battery out, I'm sure you checked the cables for corrosion and tightened them properly, so it probably comes down to a bad battery. Yank it out again, bring it to a parts store for a free check of it's condition. I'm quite sure you will find it is shot. Let me know

Problems starting with 1998 toyota camry

Sounds like starter or cable to starter is loose, especially if you just put a new battery in it.

Radio quit playing now car wont start cannot shift into nutrial

The first thing to check is the battery, if the battery is dead try jump starting it with another car or use another battery, if it then starts you should have the alternator tested, most autoparts stores do this at no charge, it may be that the alternator is not keeping the battery charged.

I have a 1998 Toyota camry 4 cylinder and it wont start i changed the battery and got a new starter and it wont turn over at all thing is my alarm wont turn off either what can be the problem and how do u...

try this
Open hood ensure new battery is disconnected.
Open main fuse panel cover under hood and remove horn relay (so you don't have to listen to the horn).
Use the key to lock the drivers door.
Connect the positive battery terminal.
Connect the negative battery terminal (security system will now activate, hazards lights will flash and horn would be going off if the relay was not removed).
Use the key to unlock the drivers door.
Get in, close drivers door.
Use the key to start the engine.
Security system will deactivate.
Get out of vehicle, reinstall horn relay, replace fuse panel cover, close hood.

While putting in a new battery in a toyota camry the instrament gauges, radio, and all back lights stoped working... replaced all fuses and still wont work

Ok, first (I know it sounds stupid) were the battery terminals put on correctly? positive to positive.. If so, then check your fuses BOth under the hood and inside the car. Check to see if any other devices are supposed to be connected to the positive lead of the battery or any loose non connected electrical wires by your battery. You might have a relay that went out or a short between your battery (and/or battery cable) and your "firewall".

My 89 camry stalled on me and know it wont start.

No clicking mean no power to the solenoid to engage the contact for the starter. If starter is not turning, you will not have spark. It stalled when you drove since not power to turn on the Electronic Fuel injection so you don't have gas. Now you don't have electric to your starter, then I suggest that you have some one to check ECM before starting replacing Starter, Fuel Injection...

Code P0401 1998 Toyota Camry

I'm assuming that it is a four cyl.The p0401 code is for insufficient egr flow. Most of the time it is the egr vsv valve (vsv means vacuum switching valve)which is what controls the vacuum to the egr valve to open it.It is kind of hard to get to as it is on the block under the head on the back side.If you follow the hose from the egr valve it goes to the vsv.I have also seen mice eat holes in the vacuum line which would also give you problems.I hope this help and let me know if you have anymore questions
