2003 saturn ion wont turn over at all dont even get the usall starter clicking just one click every once in awhile

How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit Looking at a wiring diagram an testing the starter circuit with a DMM - digital multi-meter is the way to find the problem . Free wiring diagram's here Enter vehicle info. year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on engine then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link .
Looking at the diagram you will see this starting circuit is computer controlled . Ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module. A message to the ECM - engine computer from the BCM requesting a start over the serial data network (class2) will energize the relay sending B+ voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid . Your best bet mite be to have it towed to a qualified repair shop.

2003 saturn vue will run fine for a week or two and then not start some days. After sitting for a hour, it will start and continue to start for another week with no problems. Have had the alternator...

This sounds like a failing security system to me. If the key is not being read properly by the antitheft, it will not allow your to start. The system thinks its being stolen so it shuts the starter and/or injectors off. The fact that it works an hour later sounds to me that the system is glitching and not ALLWAYS reading properly. Anti thefts are expensive to fix, but fairly cheap to bypass.

Car will not start-sometimes. Very intermittent problem.Battery is fully charged and lights turn on but it won't turn over.

next time this happens locate your starter and tap it with a hammer while someone is trying to start the care, (watch out for the fan or any moving parts) if this fixes it you need a new starter.

We have a 2003 Saturn Ion that has intermittent starting problems. The problem occurs at all temperatures. If we wait 5-15 minutes it will start. Have replaced the battery and starter My girlfriends...

Take the car in, and have the fuel pump checked, and maybe the alternater. Something in there is going out. Could even be lose battery cables, or a lose connection. Either way, you should have it checked before you get stuck somewhere.

'95 Saturn SL1 Intermittent Starting Problem

this is caused by burnt starter solenoid contacts, U can either replace the starter solenoid contacts (about $15) or u can replace the entire starter.
