Question about 2001 Volkswagen Golf

My vw golf has a light on it's orange. consists of a circle with three bars on each side. what does it mean?

    brakes are good. I will take it ti autozone to get it checked out. I dont think It's the ABS though.

    It may be your traction control light, if it's NOT the check engine light. Take the car to an AutoZone or O'Reilly's and have the codes read. WRITE THEM DOWN, and report back here. Chances are, you have a bad ABS sensor in the front brake pads, which will require a front brake pad replacement. What condition are your brakes in?

I am only guessing here, but it could be telling you that you need to change your brake pads.

How do i identify what a warning light means without the handbook? its a 2002 vw golf and looks like an orange tyre 3 bars coming off either side.


if it a circle with three dashes on both sides thats the brake wear sensor and means you should change brakes soon

this is a brake pad warning light. Either the pads are worn or the sensor wiring is damaged.
