I have had that problem you need to do a compression test on that cylinder, also check your injector, listen to it for clicking noise, also while running pull boot or coil pack up from spark plug to see if fireing.

misfires are normally faulty injectors
run a quality injector through the system or have the injectors pulled and cleaned

How to fix a code P0304

The P0304 code means that the cylinder 4 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 4. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes"

- Faulty spark plug 4
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 4
- Faulty ignition coil 4
- Fuel injector 4 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 4 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 4 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 4 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 4 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak
most likely change your spark plugs these should be done every 60,000 km

Misfiring when cold

Any gas engine requires three things to run.
Spark at the right time, fuel, and compression.
I am assuming you have confirmed you are getting spark on all cylinders, so you have eliminated the ignition system.
The next two causes could be lack of fuel, or something mechanical in the engine.
If you don't hear any odd noises like valves or lifters, I would look at the injector.

How many coil packs does my 1999 kia sportage glx se have

There are two ignition coils, each coil fires 2 cylinders, one cylinder is directly fired, the other has a plug wire from the same coil. This is like a 4 cylinder motorcycle ignition. See picture below.

Misfire on number one cylinder I have already replaced the plugs, coil packs, injectors, and both convertors. Still have misfire on number one cylinder per scan tool and when idled up the exhaulst turns...

did you check the wiring harness, or broken wire leading to this partigular cylinder? if no signal coming from the ECM, then no firing will occur.
