Have your right front Constant Velocity (c.v ) Driveshaft check out. Noise goes away on 2 wheel drive is there is no torq on the shaft like there is on 4 wheel drive. Bad c.v.shaft. Hope this was very helpful.

The clicking noise is a universal coupling,as for the change to 4x4 i havent a clue off hand i would need to have a play with the switches to fathom it out .Could evan be a automatic thing thats controlled by the ECU causing it.

I have a 2001 Dodge Durango that is ana automatic and it is stuck in 4-low. We have tried putting it in nuetral and backing up that doesnt work. When we flip the switch to put in 2 wheel the light blinks...

That truck has an electric motor that controls the transfer case,
It's a couple hundred dollar part tho. See if you can hear it run
when you shift it in. It's right on the transfer case.
Could even take it off and turn the shaft by
hand to get the range you want.May not be the transfer case
itself.

When driving a clicking noise comes from right front that goes away if I put it in 4 wheel drive. How do I fix this?

This may be a CV constant velocity joint failing, especially if it is worst when turning.
this is the main shaft turning the wheel, with a joint to allow the steering to turn.
