I suggest u replace the ignition switch, not the key cylinder but the actual electrical switch that is on the back of and actuated by the ignition key cylinder, to replace this switch remove the **** shell steering column covers, there are four screws holding the two pieces (screws are in the bottom cover in deep wells) together, the lower bottom panel of the dash below the column must come off to access the very bottom screws of the cover, once the covers are off you will see the switch is held on by a couple of machine screws to the back of the key cylinder assmebly, route the new igntion switch wiring harness just as it was with the old switch, it connects at the bottom of the column to the main vehicle harness. This should repair the problem here is the part number from www.rockauto.com

Sorry on this one but in these sort of temperatures it not really feasable to play at mechanics in the outside ,from what you describe their is a wiring problem where either the insulation has broken down and the wires are touching or a mouse has had a good chew on the loom.Wow -19centigrade ,just the thought of it is making me feel cold .i cant see it being relays ,and the abs is computer controled so if the heater is turned on and the ABS is flashing then its wiring but their is a slight chance it may be a dodgy earth wire behind the dash ,try checking the blower motor for a feed ?? if you have a feed then run an earth to the other connection and if it works then no doubt the cruise and abs will work as well. Then at least you will have some idea what to look for when weather warms up

Fuses are a great place to start, if not fuses the actual cruise control switch may be to fault. Rear heater do you get heat out the front and if so is there a fuse for a rear fan maybe a blower.. Let me know

Speedometer, cruise light , ac/heater control doesn't work

Sounds like someone needs to do some more troubleshooting first. Changing the cluster is not a simple matter since your mileage will be different. And the cluster is on a different circuit that the ac so one should not affect the other.

.abs light

I would say that the brake controller is not compatible with the abs system disconnect the brake controller. Reset the cpu to get the abs working with no light showing apply the brakes again and see if the fault reappears. IT could all be in how the controller is wired into the system

My 2004 Silverado ABS, parking brake light come on. 4x4 will not engage, fan blower will not blow, and cruise control will not work for a few days. Then it all goes away only to come back again....have had...

If the parking brake light comes on, it would indicate to me that the switch on the parking brake peddle may need adjustment. This would also deactivate the 4x4, you would not want to drive around with the brake on. Not sure about the fan blower and cruise but all are in dash and the dash does have a common ground behind the lower left kick panel. A loose ground connection can cause much havoc.

I have 1998 gmc 3/4 ton auto . a.b.s light comes on intermitantly. when it does I also loose my full heater controls and cruise control. new brake switch has been instaled but c'ant see how that would

It is coincidence that your heater control went at the same time your ABS control went out. Try replacing the ABS control and see if that fixes it. Many times because of the electrical complexity you have to just start replacing things until you get it unless you own one very expensive computer.
Look for loose wires. Also try it in reverse if you like. Replace the heater control and see if that fixes it all. Also check ALL fuses.

I have a 2004 Chevrolet 1500 extended cab 2 wheel drive pickup. The ABS and Brake warning light comes on all the time . Also the cruise control quit working. The heater fan does not run either. I think...

The e-brake cable may need to be adjusted. The brake warning light could be coming on for even low fluid but the ABS light most lilley is a speed sensor. The best thing to do is connect a scan tool or code reader to see which sensor is causing the issue. Unfortunately, I think you need to diagnose one thing at a time and if its too much, take it to a local shop :)

ABS, A/c clutch, speedometer, odometer quit at the same time

Its your ABS system. There is a faulty switch/sensor on the master cylinder. It leaks brake fluid into the wires connected to it and causes the circuit to short, resulting in a blown fuse that controls the AC, odometer, speedometer, cruise control and ABS light to stay on. This can even cause a fire in the vehicle. A fire can occur even when the vehicle is turned off. To correct the problem go to this link - http://www.fordwindstarrecall.info/
