Were is the idle air control valve located on my 04 ford f150 it got a 5.4 litter

At the throttle control valve in the upper intake manifold. has 2 wires to it, is a long and round and about 8 inches long.

As long as you are talking about a 2004 Heritage or Lighting model, it is on the back of the Throttle body, under the plastic cover ( the one that has the 5.4L lettering on it ).

This if is for a 2004 new body style, don't think they have IACs anymore, with the change over to throttle by wire. The servo that is actuated by the throttle in the cab is also controlled by the PCM, and verified against the TPS ( throttle Position Sensor ).

It is on the throttle body itself the best thing to do is stop by your Ford dealership in the parts department and they will print you off pictures and diagrams showing you where its located i do it all of the time for all of the Fords i have wish you the best of luck Michigan Man

The idle air control valve (IAC) is located on the throttle body.this valve allows for sir to bypass the throttle plate when closed in order get air in to the engine

2004 and newer Ford Explorer's use throttle by wire with electronic throttle control. They don't have idle air control (IAC) valves.

How to remove a idle air control valve is windstar 2001


Idle Air Control Valve The Idle Air Control (IAC) valve is located on the air intake plenum.

Removal & Installation
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) electrical connector.
Remove the bolts and the IAC valve.
Discard the gasket.
To install:
Install a new gasket and position the IAC valve.
Torque the retaining bolts to 8 ft. lbs. (11 Nm).
Attach the electrical connector.
Reconnect the battery ground cable.

Iac valve


it is located on the top of the engine, mounted either on the side or top of the throttle body (close to where the throttle cable hooks up) should have a small connector on it with 2 or 3 wires
