Hello! The back three plugs are located under the coils much like the front three. 4 mm Allen bolts hold the plastic cover in place.
#2-4-6 are left to right on rear bank. #1-3-5 are left to right on the front. If you are going to change the plugs they come gapped at .042". Use magnetic sockets (8 mm, 10mm) with a 10" extension.
You can make life easier by removing the Purge Control Valve to make access to #6 (two 12mm nuts).

The coils have green sliders that you push to release the coil connectors. Then unbolt the the coils, pull up and out; Walla!!! There are the plugs.

I am changing the spark plugs, but I only found three. Where are the other three?

The engine sets sidways. If it has a V-6 engine the other 3 are between the engine and the firewall. Usually a pain to get to. Sometimes its easier to get to them from under the van, the right inspection mirror can really help here. If you go at it from the top be prepaired to remove some stuff from the top of that side of the engine and yor might not be able to see them very good that way either.

The crankshaft pulley is down on the left side.

Spark plug numbering, for spark plugs on the backside of the engine.
From Left going Right-> 2-4-6

The distributorless coil pack sits on the backside of the engine, close to the firewall.
Numbering of where to put the spark plug wires;
There are three spark plug towers close to the engine. From Left to Right -> 3-5-7
There are three spark plug towers far from the engine. From Left to Right-> 6-4-2

For Vin C, 1, L and K:

Spark plugs difficult to replace

The engine does need to be shifted to replace the rear plugs, but it is easy. Take out the dogbone engine mount in the front of the engine compartment and push the vehicle backwards while still in park , then throw the parking break on once the engine tips forward.

Cant find spark plugs

There are three in the front and three in the back near the firewall. Unscrew the top two bolts and the one holding the rubber hose connecting to the airfilter it will come right up. You also have to remove the 3 bolts holding the cross bar. It may be a bit more tricky to get to the back three; some have stated you may have to remove the alternator to get to them. I would suggest investing in a Haynes manual you should be able to find one an a local auto parts store. Good luck!

I just want to know how hard it is to change the spark plugs

Pretty straight forward. Locate the spark plugs, remove one wire, then the plug, gap the new plug to specifications, install the new plug, then the wire. If your grand am is a 4 cylinder, all of the plugs are on top facing the front of the car. If it is a 6 cylinder, three will be on the front facing the car, and the other three will be on the back of the engine between the firewall. The rear will be harder to get to. You will have to change them from the top as you cannot get to them from the bottom of the car.

Need Tune up

To access the three sparkplugs in back, the intake manifold needs to be removed. All the bolts are easily accessable. First disconnect all the sensors, label them if you like but they are all different. Next remove the air intake pipe between the air box and throttle body and other vacuum hoses attached to the intake. Now remove the throttle cable. There are 2 10mm bolts holding it on the back, firewall side. Once the bolts are out it is a simple matter to remove the cable from the throttle body by just bringing the now slack cable in line with the slot on the semi circular cable guide and out it comes. There are 7 bolts in the middle and 5 or 6 bolts on the firewall side, 2 hold on the EGR pipe and the 3 or 4 others hold the intake, a small rachet or box end wrench works well for these. Once all the bolts are out, the intake should be loose and once the vacuum lines for the egr valve are disconnected the intake should lift off easily allowing easy access to the 3 spark plugs on the rear bank of cylinders. Once changed, just reverse the process to reinstall the intake. The gasket between the 2 halves should ideally be replaced.

Change spark plugs11

Yes, you have to take the manifold off. If you shine a flashlight in you can see the black plastic tops of the plug assemblies through the manifold on the sides. Very annoying. Unless you know what you're doing, you should probably leave it to someone else who does.
