The light is on because something is not right, as indicated by sputtering during acceleration. needs computer diagnosis at a shop

I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute. The blowers for the fan work just fine, but the air never gets warm. Any idea what it is?

your heater core could be clogged. flush out your whole cooling system and hopefully that fixes the problem

Mazda tribute 2001 stall hard when it's cold

I am dealing with the same problem right now. I replaced the plugs last weekend, but code still came back. It is only rough in the morning, then drives fine all day, except for the engine light being on. I'm trying to look up as many posts as possible before replacing any more parts. Please let me know if you find a solution and I will do the same

Ok I have a 2005 tribute and I always run

This car has a catalytic converter, you can't see the smoke of the burned oil with it, it's cleaned. The oil could get in the plugs cavity only if there's a leak at the valve cover. My guess is that the oil seeps out only when there's pressure - the engine is running. To find where it leaks clean your engine thoroughly the start the engine in your driveway for an hour - where the oil will leak you clearly see it. In that case replace the corresponding seal.

ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. IT RUNS FINE

doesnt sound like much of a problem some vechiles put on the light for matenience reasons. try unhooking the battery positive leave it disconected for 15-20 mins and reatach it. this should clear any active codes. start you vechile if it comes on again you will have to get a code reader or bring it to a garage to see why its on. but if it runs fine pffff
my lights been on for a long time and still runs fine

2001 MAZDA TRIBUTE COLD STARTING PROBLEM

My wifes car had this same problem at about 100000 miles and after many trips to the shop it turned out to be carbor build up in the intake manifold. A fuel injector cleaner was hooked up and it helped the problem, but did not completely solve it. In oreder to get it totally clean the intake had to be removed and clean it out manually.
