Question about 2004 Kia Sedona

1 Answer

For some reason, the front heat is not working, but the rear is fine. The front blower motor works, but it only blows cold air. While the heat in the back warms up fine, the front witll never heat...leading me to believe that the thermostat is fine. Maybe the butterfly valve is stuck? If you think it might be, how do I get to it to check it?

It probably is what your calling the butterfly (blend door), and the blend door motor has gone bad. This is a common thing on these units...The motor is around $30 and esilly replaced. Buy yourself a manual from any parts store and it will give you the details.

Front blower motor town country intermitantly stops working. Rear blower works fine.

Most likely the motor is going bad, but it could be the switch. If fiddling with the switch will make it work sometimes, replace the control panel. Otherwise, replace the motor.

2004 CHEVY SUBURBAN FRONT A/C WORKS BUT THE REAR DOESN'T TURN ON

There is a blower motor control processor for the back blower - it takes input from the front control and the rear control and decides the fan speed. That processor could be faulty, or the blower motor, or a 30amp fuse in the engine compartment.
In the front system you have a controller and blend doors that direct air thru the heater core and evaporator. You would need to check the operation of those blend doors.

My fan does not come on and blow however the rear does

This is common you will need to check the front blower resistor, this is located under the dash on the passenger side on heater box next to blower motor. the wiring plug also needs to be looked at. the plug on some of these heats up and starts to burn and in turn the connector needs replacing and the resistor also.
If the connector is good then replace the resistor and that will solve the blower problem. As far as the rear unit not blowing hot air , make sure the coolant is full and if the coolant if full then you will need to take a look at the rear unit blend door. this is the door that opens and closes to control hot or cold air, if the coolant if full in radiator then blend motor may be bad, testing will need to be done to see if its the door or the motor that controls the door. good day

Front heat not working, but rear is fine.

Vacumn hose to operate flap is damaged or somebody kicked on outside of plastic cowl holding flap in place on floorboard,or cable going to slide mechanism, not funtioning....if flap in open position going to get cold air ,has to shut,to bypass fresh air intake,an let only heated air through.....
