yes this could be the problem. remove the side one and install the top one, recalls are done for very good reasons (they cost allot of money and lost profit) and this lack of heat in the cabin would have been such a reason

Did you replace the thermostat? If it is stuck open the coolant may not get hot enough to be effective.

1996 Honda Passport EX 3.0 Heater runs weak, the fan barely puts any air out, but I can hear it blowing. It also barely puts out warm air. With the temp. lever in cool it really blows. but as I slide it...

Is this a quantity of air problem or quality of the heat from the heater?
If its heat from the heater you need to first flysh and reverse flush your cooling system, includes radiator etc and use a good flushing agent first. Then replace heater water valve.
Refill and bleed out cooling system and get car up to temp.
When hot, feel pipes going into and out of heater matrix. On full heat they should both be roughly same temp, if not , replace matrix cos it must have collapsed.
Have yoy EML light checked at local garage using spec diagnostic tools.

I just bought this car with only 36k miles and the heat takes 15 minutes to blow warm air. Does this signify a big problem?

If the heater tap, that supplies water to the heater core,is not adjusted properly,it may do that. What does the engine temp switch indicate? If its showing normal temp and the heater still blows cool air, look at the tap.If the engine temp shows its still cool, the engine may not have a thermostat in it.Thirdly, the heater core may have a partial water blockage and needs to be flushed out.(quite common).Hope this helps

To prove the valve that gives water pass towards the heating if this one does not open you have no heating inside the car

Fan works ok blows cool air thermastat is ok

This could be that the actuator that opens the door in the heater is dead.. or the actual heater-core is bad. Which is costly and expensive.

The heater blows cold air and the anitfreeze is leakig

the clamp is definitely not tight... tighten it first and see if there is a change in heat also refill what you lost in antifreeze also see it the hose itself is not leaking if so replace both to be sure and possible flush the heater core while your at that point .

Heater wont get hot

Make sure the temp door is moving when you change the temp.then change the thermostat out with a new one.Bleed the system of all the air in the cooling system. If still,no heat, remove the heater hoses from the heater core, and flush the heater core out with a water hose.In one pipe,it will flush out the other pipe of the heater core.
