Question about 2006 Ford Taurus
I took my 2006 taurus to the dealer with a problem with my windshield motor (i thought) based on a diagnosis from a local repair shop. We thought it might be covered under a recall. The dealer charged $89.00 and stated that it was not the motor but the multifunction switch and was going to charge $400.00 to repair. I declined and took it back to the 1st shop who only was going to charge $40 to install and $80 for the switch. I got a call from the shop saying that ater replacing the switch the motor still did not work but he could replace it for $250.00. I agreed and upon picking up my car I learned that he replaced 5 relays and did not replace the motor and charged me $160.00. I paid for the service and now none of my windows will go up or down. I would like to know what I can do to stop being taken advantage of by the shops.
GO TO A quailified mechanic.
You might have been better off staying with the dealer.
